I don't agree with that ruling ball was going down and though the hoop. Who cares i his fingertips were still touching?

All he had to do was drop it in the basket. He went up with 1.1 still on the clock. Just took too long to release it.

He did drop it. It broke the plane of the basket he just still had fingertips on it. I'd say the rule of touching it shouldn't matter ifthe ball is already passing through the rim

I hear ya. I wasn't sure at first when the announcers said it was over the cylinder.
