Remember when you could play an offline franchise with other users? Remember when you could customize the roster for your offline franchise? Not this year :shake:

I have purchased Madden every year for AT LEAST one platform since 1994...

CCM while hinting at the future and potentially could be really good (read: not this year) I would MUCH prefer to have franchise mode back.

1. No fantasy drafts... really?

2. No ability to import college rookies from NCAA any longer - And while I get that it never worked right, why not AT LEAST let the player customize (within Madden) the draft class every year so us purists can update the drafts each season. They wont allow this because EA wants to severely limit customization in the game so you will buy a new copy each year just to get the new players/rookies.

3. No ability to edit players - in ANY way - in any mode other than exhibition! This is by far the most glaring weakness. I like to customize my game, but this limitation takes us back to Madden 06. Not only can you not edit attributes, but you cannot edit numbers or even equipment in the new all everything CC mode that killed franchise.

Additionally if you have played Madden, you know how incredibly BAD EA is at setting ratings. The incidents of linemen having more speed than running backs goes back many years. Not to mention some people like to create their own rosters from college players and prep stars and avoid having stupid randomly generated rookies named after the EA developers... Hoofnagel anyone?

I know the "reasons" why Connected Careers is so locked down, because of the online component. But why in the world would you not have an offline mode for those of us that enjoy customization? The answer is because they have a monopoly with the NFL license.

Do you think their would be an offline franchise mode with full customization if there were ANY competitor developers who had access to the license? The answer is 100% yes.

How is CCM better than Franchise Madden 11? Simple, it is not.

New EA Slogan: "If it's in game, Oh who cares we have an exclusive license"

Any PS3 users having a problem with their online pass? I'm getting a message stating I'm not authorized to use it. The hell?

Known issue, although mine worked fine. They said on the little ticker that they are working on a fix, and that all passes will be honored.

You thinking about doing an online franchise or anything, Smooth? I would be interested in doing a 2 user league (more if there were more PS3 users interested) just for some variety.

I wish I would have researched this game before buying it. I like to put all the Buckeyes on the same team via the fantasy draft which has been taken off this version. A big letdown this year, but I tend to play NCAA more anyways.

Yup, before playing, I spent over an hour doing this methodically, in order to balance the trades and leave the raided teams in good shape

:shake: Glad I rented it.

When you have a monopoly and maintain it despite getting punished for said monopoly, you can get away with garbage like this.

I am not particularly impressed with the physics. It feels more like there are a wider range of animations and directions that are triggered by contact instead of the usual single direction for a set of animations. The running motions are awkward, especially for QBs getting out of the pocket with an OL nearby.

I am actually surprised by all the negativity, but because of it this year I am going to buy NCAA and play that I think. I was waiting on Madden, but improvenets in the engine don't seem to exceed all the problems with it. I know NCAA gameplay is questionable, but I am going with that I think.

No import draft classes and no player edits? Not even player numbers? No thanks, I'm passing this year.
Yep. I don't play online, so offline franchise is what has kept me coming back each year. I'm glad I waited and didn't buy it right away. I think I'll stick with NCAA this year.

If they keep this type of crap going for next year, then I won't have a need to buy either.

No franchise? Are they trying to make less money?

I'm not buying it. I was planning on it, but not now. Fantasy draft and franchise mode were the game for me.

A franchise is basically when you use a coach to guide the team through the year. It's really the same as franchise mode.

Not without fantasy draft. Totally ruins it for me. I'd be bored of the same rosters two weeks after owning the game and beating the opposition 43-3 every game. Simming/building a team around rookies, Buckeyes, favorite players, etc is what makes Madden for me. They've taken all that away, so this game really is no more than a rental option for me.
