He lucked into finding an offensive guru right down the road in New Orleans who was looking for a new gig. I like Joe Burrow and he's obviously very talented, but does anybody think he would have been a record setting qb, Heisman winner, National Champion and #1 overall pick without Joe Brady? I'd wager a good sum he would have had a "nice" senior season and been a 4th round pick. This fucking idiot has a national championship, and millions of dollars.
That's a scorching hot take... but I agree with it wholeheartedly. There's a lot of people claiming to be geniuses after Burrows' senior year, after he was all but forgotten after that sub par junior season. But Brady definitely helped him, and he looks like a possible future star for the BengalsHe lucked into finding an offensive guru right down the road in New Orleans who was looking for a new gig. IDK, Burrow looked damn good for the Bengals in his shortened season...without Brady he has nowhere near the record setting season he did in 2019.
not even the biggest LSU homer on planet can say otherwise.
what i was more curious to see was how much of it was Brady, how much of it was Burrow?
Or how much was it an unbelievably perfect marriage between the two and neither will duplicate without the other?
He did look very good at times, but how much of that was Brady’s tutelage? There’s no way he’s the qb he is today if he didn’t spend a year with Brady. He went from a pretty “meh” Junior season (57.8%, 2894 yds, 16/5 td/int, 133.2 qbr) to pretty objectively the greatest single season in CFB history (76.3%, 5671 yds, 60/6 td/int, 202.0 qbr). I’d say Joe Brady took a pretty good qb and made him a super star. Obviously, it’s not all Brady, Joe had to work his tail off, but he was night/day between 2018 and 2019. Without Brady, is he anywhere near what he is now? I have a hard time saying he is...especially given LSU’s previous track record with qbs.IDK, Burrow looked damn good for the Bengals in his shortened season...
But I'm not sure how long that success will last if they don't give him a competent OL

But like I said, it'll be telling if he can improve a franchise that is known for being one of the cheapest in all of sports, with an owner who is indifferent to winning because he still gets paid from NFL's revenue sharing
He's the main reason why I could never root for the Bengals. He's arguably worse than Donald Sterling was, because he grew up the son of a football genius and he doesn't give a damn about his team. I almost feel sorry for Burrow, except he's getting paid millionsFuck Mike Brown!
shit ain’t over in Baton Rouge.
Hope for your sake that doesn't mean what it sounds like. We know from first-hand experience that when stuff like this comes up, it keeps coming up for a while.
i mean Kansas and Oregon State laid out harsher punishments for stuff that happened at LSU than LSU did)
