LSU Tigers (official thread)

was.

that’s the week we’re playing the Florida game that was suspended earlier this year due to their Covid outbreak.
Yeah, and now there’s some talk of the LSU-Fla game not happening on 12/12 since Bama could be off that day and that would give them an advantage in Atlanta for the SECCG on 12/19, likely against Florida.

But Bama could have another postponement, which would even things up.

latest rumor i’ve heard (complete rumor)

11/21:
LSU vs Bama

12/12:
LSU vs Faggots from Florida
Bama vs Kentucky (currently scheduled for 11/21)

12/19:
SEC Championship
LSU vs PigFuckers (currently scheduled 11/21)

That's a great solution to the current problem if:
  1. everyone agrees, and
  2. no more issues arise that affect the teams involved
But since the 2nd point above could lead to an enormous number of permutations, none of which can be foreseen, I'd just focus on #1 and try to get it done. Kudos to the league office if they can pull it off

LSU Tigers QB Myles Brennan unlikely to return this season

LSU quarterback Myles Brennan, who started the first three games of the season and has been sidelined with an injury ever since, might not play another down for the Tigers in 2020.

Coach Ed Orgeron told reporters on Wednesday that Brennan, who is dealing with an abdominal/hip injury that has caused him to miss practice and games, will probably shut things down for the rest of the season. He added that the injury could require surgery.

"It doesn't look like he's going to be back, unless some miraculous thing happens," Orgeron said.

Just sayin': I'll bet Orgeron checks the transfer portal daily looking for another Joe Burrow......:biggrin2:

Report: LSU ignored sexual assault complaints against football players

A USA Today report on Monday alleges that several LSU officials had knowledge of sexual assault allegations made against former running back Derrius Guice and other former football players, and either ignored those complaints or denied the victims' requests for protection.

The report also cites three cases in which football players were found responsible for sexual assault and were allowed to stay on campus, receiving deferred suspensions, which amounts to probation.

The report details assault allegations made against former wide receiver Drake Davis by an LSU tennis player, including the allegation that the victim's tennis coach, Mike Sell, was informed that Davis had punched the woman in the stomach and did not report the assault to the school or the Title IX coordinator. The report states that LSU "sat on the information for months, while Davis continued to assault and strangle her."

In 2018, Davis was arrested on second-degree battery charges and was indefinitely suspended by the team. The arrest warrant said that Davis, who enrolled at Southern University last October, was alleged to have committed battery on a woman he was dating on four occasions over the period of roughly 13 months.

"We are unwavering in our commitment to respond promptly to any reports of misconduct, to investigate these reports in a manner that is fair and equitable, to support victims of sexual assault, and to protect the privacy of our students according to the law," LSU said in a statement. "Putting an end to sexual assault is an institutional priority, and we are constantly working to achieve that goal."

USA Today reports that at least nine football players, including Guice and Davis, have been reported to police for sexual misconduct and dating violence since Ed Orgeron was promoted to interim head coach in 2016.

Orgeron was later promoted to full-time head coach, and he led the team to a national championship last season.

Is this a Baylor (Art Briles) 2.0?

I'm surprised espn is even reporting this and not sweeping it under the rug.

It was really investigated and reported by USA Today. Their entire article is much more complete and damning; needless to say, ESPN didn't add anything. I probably should have just posted the USA Today article.

LSU mishandled sexual misconduct complaints against students, including top athletes

Elizabeth Taylor, a Temple University professor who studies sexual assault and harassment within athletics organizations, said LSU exhibits the same "pattern of continually mishandling these types of incidents” that was seen at Baylor, Penn State and Michigan State.

“I don’t assume that any of these coaches don’t understand that what’s happening is wrong,” Taylor said. “I think they’re making decisions that are best for the success of the program, and they’re making the decision to put the safety and well-being of other students behind a player’s ability to play on a Saturday afternoon.”

Here's a text message from Luke Dudley, an LSU football equipment manager, in the USA Today article:

I think one of the recruiting girls saw it on my phone and told everyone

Just wonderin': Who are these "recruiting girls" at LSU and what exactly do they do.....:biggrin2:

Dude seriously? If LSU gets away with this shit, literally nothing will ever stop them. This isn’t even to mention CEH killed someone in self defense and there was hardly any mention of it after it happened.

not trying to defend CEH, but its not exactly uncommon occurrence in Baton Rouge for someone to be murdered and the story just end with no arrests.

that city (especially North BR and downtown) has really gone downhill the last 15 years or so.
