Lowe's or Home Depot?

Lowe's sucks ass. I've never had an easy experience there. Built a deck a couple summers ago, and started out at Lowe's...after about three agonizing trips to Lowe's, I switched to HD, and haven't looked back. People there are friendlier, significantly more knowledgable (no contest), and the prices are better.

Maybe it's because you keep bailing on them?

Bought a chainsaw at Home Depot b/c My father in law gave me a $100 gift card to there for Christmas and had to return the first saw b/c it had no owners manual on how to assemble the saw and had no chain.

Upon returning it, I asked the guy if it is customary for saws to be sold without a chain so he checked another box and said there was no chain in there either so I bought a chain.

I got home and he called me and said that there IS supposed to be a chain included so I had to make my 3rd trip in one day back to the store to get the chain and oil for mixing with the gas.

Getting ready to celebrate a Buckeye victory tonight, eh?

I got my circular saw all ready to go too, just in case I can't get the couch out the door before setting it on fire.

Ace Hardware. I can be in and out of Ace by the time I find anything or obtain assistance from Lowe's, Home Depot, or Wally World. And Ace has a much better selection of small hardware/fasteners, etc.

Check out lines are for losers.

I chose Other... I used to be an avid Lowe's only guy but now I don't care as much. The prices are pretty much the same at both stores. I usually go to Home Depot for smaller things/supplies since it is closer and go to Lowe's if I'm looking for more of a selection of certain items.

I've never found anyone at either of the chains that knows jack shit. Their items and prices are pretty comparable, so I typically judge based upon 2 criteria: location and the hotness of the check out girls. Where I live, it's about 10 miles further to go to Home Depot and the last time I was there, there weren't any girls worth driving 10 miles for.

I've never found any girls at a hardware store worth looking at.
