torqueing thier wrist (BS). He then tryied to get me to buy this POS out of balance DeWalt... and the fact that I am a PC guy, and thier selection sucks. I do however like the HD for things like lawn fertilizer (they carry Ringers) and Lowes doesn't carry any organic alternative. I need to lay off the coffee.

You're a guy, all of us have strong wrists.

Brain cramp, what's a "PC guy?"

Organic, schmorganic, what are you a tree-huggin' lib?

Give me the chemicals and give them to me now!

OK, I will try and explain this slowly... If the context of a conversation is power tools, and someone makes a reference to "PC" they are talking about "Porter Cable". The "DW" (DeWalt) v "PC" is to power tools what Ford v Chevy is to rednecks.

Organic fertilizer is slower release, lower N, therefore it feeds the roots of the lawn instead of feeding spurt growth, doesn't leach into the water system, and I have no problem allowing my kids to roll around in the grass.

I guess you just haven't been paying attention when I have made my (admittedly brief) stops in the politics forum. I am just about as conservative as you can get without shoving a bible in every face I see.

Both but I'm starting to lean towards Lowes because of customer service. I was at HD last month getting materials to finish my basement. You'd think with a $1,000 purchase they could find someone to help you load drywall. I asked the cashier if they could find someone. Pull my vehicle around and get it ready and no one outside yet. Go back in the store to look for some help. Two male cashiers up front with no customers but they weren't allowed to leave the register. Another guy standing around the customer service desk but he wasn't on the clock. So, I go out to load the truck myself. Handling two sheets of drywall isn't exactly the easiest thing for one person to do. I was fortunate enough that another customer stopped to help.

Don't know how you loaded those yourself without them breaking right down the middle.

I'm hearing more and more negatives about HD's customer service.

I was using my company's delivery van which has a pretty low bed. I was able to slide them off the cart in the van. I probably could have done the first half by myself but after that there's no way I could of got them in without doing some damage.

I must say that I did prefer HD over Lowes when we had our cabinets and counter tops made. They were a little cheaper and the lead time was less. Their design center also seemed a little more professional.

I've always favored Lowes, but they're opening a HD less than a mile away so that will probably be my first choice from now on. There's a Carter Lumber 10 minutes away and the Lowes is 15 minutes.
