Louisiana State 2009 Baseball

LSU takes game 3 (and the series) by a score of 7-5

Excellent series between two teams ranked right up near the top (depending on polls).

LSU mounts a rally late, but falls short Saturday
Sunday game goes back and forth a few times, and UGA falls just short in their rally.

Epic battles as expected.

Good series BigWoof.
Hope you got to attend a game or two.

LSU takes the series form Alabumble with a 12-7 victory yesterday.
Gives us 9 straight series wins in conference play going back to last year.

We're now a half game out of the lead for the West (more on that later).

Arky got their asses whipped twice by Vandy (9-0 & 13-6) over the weekend.
The Arky/Vandy game yesterday was cancelled due to severe weather.
And as per SEC rules, that game will not be re-scheduled .

Seriously, how the hell are they NOT gonna play a conference game?!!?
A mid week game vs. Middle of Nowhere State, I can understand, but a conference game?!!? You know, them things that they use to determine division and conference champions.

If that half game benefits Arky in any way at the end of the season, that's fucked up.
Seriously, they got bitch-slapped twice, and possibly/probably would have again if the game at been played.
There are 2 teams in the West (us and Ole Piss), plus Florida in the East within a game and a half of them right now.
In such a tight race, that 1/2 game could have a big impact on seeding for the SEC tourney.

Tigers hitters come through

Louis Coleman proved to be the stopper for the LSU pitching staff once again Sunday afternoon. For the fifth consecutive Southeastern Conference series, Coleman started and picked up a victory following a Tigers defeat. Coleman turned in a solid six-inning performance as LSU knocked off Alabama 12-7 in the rubber game of the series at Tuscaloosa.

LSU took down UNO last night 8-6.
Was 8-2 with 2 outs in the ninth before we decided to let them make a game out of it.

Tonight, the Tigers have another home game against yet another irrelevant in-state school.
6:30 tonight vs my Alma Mater, Nicholls state.

You didn't go to LSU? :sick1:

unfortunately, no.
I grew up (and still live) only about a half an hour from Nicholls' campus.

Since I was able to attend and still live at home, the price difference between Nicholls and LSU was pretty steep.
Tuition was similar, but renting an apartment (or dorm room), plus other living expenses made a big difference.

Never was a fan of Nicholls though. Not even as a student.
Always went to LSU games instead. My family has had season tickets in football and baseball since the mid-50's.
