I haven't seen LSU play this well this early since '97-'98 teams.

Starting pitching has been solid. They haven't gone deep in games due to none of the games being close, so there is still a few question marks.

Lineup is smashing the ball all over the park right now (and the temperature and winds haven't shifted in the hitters' favor yet).
Coming into tonight, we're outscoring opponents 80-18 through 7 games.
Up 12-2 bottom of the 2nd @ UNO right now.

Competition hasn't been the best yet, so I'm not going to get over excited just yet. Illinois will probably be the toughest team we play when we get to that point.

P.S. the new ballpark is NICE!!!! Haven't been in it yet, but I listened to the game in the parking lot Saturday. It's probably better than the AAA (Zephyrs)park in New Orleans.

P.S.S. thanks for starting this thread :oh:

The Tigers crushed UNO (Rivals$) and swept Central Florida (Rivals Free)
to solidify their ranking as the #1 team in the Nation.

If the Tigers play up to their ability, this season will be played for 2nd place.

Nutria: I've heard the same about the Box Stadium from more than 1 source.

Me and a buddy discussed this at length during the game last night.

There is pretty much no way we can keep scoring like this all season long.
But 1-9, this lineup is really REALLY good. There really isn't a weak link that we can find. The next couple guys on the bench could probably start for several ranked teams.

Pitching has been really solid. I'm hoping for at least a couple close low scoring games before conference play starts up. I want to see how the starters respond to having to go more than 5-6 innings with a low pitch count. And also to see how well our bullpen handles the situation.

Was hoping to catch a game this past weekend since I was staying in Baton Rouge. Got there too late Saturday, so we hung out in the parking lot listening to game on the radio and hearing the sounds of the ball park.
When we woke up Sunday, it was 36 degrees and WINDY! Couldn't talk my wife into sitting out there in those conditions.

SOON, I will be in that ballpark to see a game.

How is the Green Wave in baseball? I seem to think they are tough.

They're off to a somewhat sluggish start (6-4), but they've been a consistently good ball club for the last decade or so. I'm expecting them to win 35-40 games, and make a little noise in Regionals (depending on who they're grouped with).

They're easily our biggest rival in Baseball. Almost always a good matchup.
I'm looking forward to us ripping their faces apart and pissing in their dead skulls.

The bats waited until the 8th inning to wake up last night.
Down 4-3 to Mississippi Valley, Sean Ochinko blasted a Grand Slam into the top row of the left field bleachers to give us our 1st lead of the game.
LSU ended up scoring 7 in the inning to win 10-4.

Ochinko hit a granny Tuesday night as well. I don't ever remember seeing a guy hit Grand Slams on back to back nights.

3 game set vs Illinois starts up tonight.
The Illini have a pretty good record (5-1 if i remember right).
Anybody have any insight on these guy? How good are they?

Coach Mainieri thinks they'll be the best team we've played thus far.

Illinois beat us 3-1 last night. 2 run homer off our closer in the top of the 9th was the difference in the game.

Apparently everyone got bored with the pitchers duel last night.
LSU up 22-10, Tigers still batting in the 8th.

9 or 10 totals homers between 2 teams.
LSU has hit 3 Grand Slams in the game.

Illinois freshman Willie Argo making his college debut today.
    3 for 3 with 3 homers and a walk.
