Lou Holtz (Official Thread)

Lou Holtz compares R.Rodriguez to HITLER

I hope all of you were just watching college football live. When they were talking about the coaching job RR has done this year all of the sudden Lou Holtz says and i quote " Lets remember this Hitler was a great leader too" "some people are going to lead your team in the wrong way and some people are going to lead your team in the right way" The whole set just got extremely awkward as soon as he said it and Mark May's mouth almost hit the desk classic Lou Holtz moment.

ESPN's Holtz apologizes for Hitler reference

ESPN analyst Lou Holtz apologized on air Saturday for mentioning Adolf Hitler during a college football studio show the previous night.
The former Notre Dame coach referenced Hitler while making a point about good and bad leadership during a discussion of the struggles of first-year Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez.
"Last night while trying to make a point about leadership, I made an unfortunate reference," Holtz said. "It was a mistake and I sincerely apologize." An ESPN spokesman said Holtz will not be further disciplined.

Holtz mulling a run for Congress

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz is mulling a run for Congress in Florida as a Republican, a GOP strategist said Tuesday.
Holtz could decide in the next several weeks whether to seek the central Florida congressional seat held by Democrat U.S. Rep. Suzanne Kosmas, said the strategist who requested anonymity because he is not authorized to talk about the matter.
The 72-year-old Holtz has never run for office. He has worked as an analyst at ESPN since retiring from his last coaching stint at the University of South Carolina at the end of the 2004 season.
