Losing Early, Now What Needs to Happen - 2010 Chaos Theory

I agree wiscy should be ahead of us, anyone know who we'll play IF we go to the sugar bowl? is that what is projected for us?

Sounds like Sugar to play Arkansas if Auburn beats South Carolina in the SEC CG. If South Carolina wins it, it sounds like we wil be playing them in the Sugar

I agree there is no way to say who is better between tOSU, wishky and msu. I mean come on msu beat wisky head to head and lost to Iowa. We didnt need a fake punt to beat Iowa at there place. We went on the road and lost to wisky in a night game. Did one of these teams play an outrageous non big 10 schedule and get a win against a top ten opponent.....NOPE.

Wisky did the right thing that JT will never try to do and that is run up the score and get style points. I really dont care what the polls say there is no true way to tell the difference between the three big 10 teams with one loss. We may very well be ahead of wisky if miami wins 10 games this year. Go Bucks

Look, the poster who said that all the teams we played turned out to be shit was correct. But, Wisky didn't exactly play a tough OOC schedule themselves, so thats a moot point. Comes down to H2H.

And damn, if Cryami could have won, as well as Iowa, the rankings would have been CLOSE tomorrow, with the LSU loss. Unfortunately, the Bucks will probably take a hit in the computers.

And I understand the whole "Wisky deserves to be ahead of us" comments, but this is a thread to discuss how tOSU can get to the NC, not a thread to discuss why we don't deserve to be in it. That, frankly, is not relevant. As tOSU fans, we should be defending our team vehemently, leave the rationalizing to everyone else.

Call me a homer, but I believe my Bucks should play for the NC EVERY GODDAMN YEAR. I'm a homer, and proud of it.

GO BUCKS!!!!!! Way to make us proud today, and in the entire 2010 campaign!

Look, no one is saying that the over-achieving 07 squad sucked. Obviously they did not. If anything, they were a victim of their unexpected and dominant defensive play (after losing so many starters), and in performing so well after re-loading that they made it to the BCSCG.

But I was incorrect earlier, as it was 31 unanswered points. Try to put lipstick on that all you want Josh, 31 unanswered in a MNC game is kinda beat down-ish. The 31 unanswered points was the thing that struck most people who watched it, not whether the loss was old school T formation or spread oriented.
Michigan week's over.

31 unanswered points means the other team never scored. I believe you were looking for 31 consecutive points.

Looking at the update from today it looks like an overall pretty bad day. But a closer look sees that we got some key wins that could help us move up. I don't know if it will be enough but just looking at the comps and the human polls we all might be surprised tomorrow evening.

Week 13 bcs poll- http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcs

Highlights to look at:
Coaches poll-Bucks get BCS bump thanks to the gap closing on Wisky here.
5-Wisky-win
6-LSU-loss
7-OSU-win

Harris poll-Bucks also get another BCS bump thanks to another gap closing on Wisky with LSU losing.
5-Wisky
6-LSU
7-Stan
8-OSU

Comps- Bucks get another bump thanks to other losses this weekend.
Ala/Aub was a win-win for us in the comps. But their loss closes gaps on teams in the KM comp.

Ok St losing drops the B12 comp ranks(no B12 team in top 10 of BCS, only one chance for a team to make it. Winner of B12 CG getting a big push.) and closes in on teams in RB and JS comp but loses lead in A&H.

Overall in comps B10 made out this weekend even with Iowa loss. 3 teams will be in top 7-8 of BCS. Better than any other conference.

This weeks BCS could look like this:
1. Oregon
2. Auburn
3. TCU
4. Stan
5. Wisky
6. OSU
7. MSU
8-10 ??? Toss up ???

or if lucky with above

1. Oregon
2. Auburn
3. TCU
4. Stan
5. OSU
6. Wisky
7. MSU

Looks bad still. But 1 and 2 have tough games(Org St is a rival game and they have punchers chance at home). 3 could look like a fraud thanks to Boise's loss. Giving Stan and OSU a shot at jumping into the game ala LSU in 07. Could come down to voters in the last week to make a decision to put TCU in or play Stan vs OSU/Wisky. We will find out the chances tomorrow.

If you told me at the beginning of the season that one loss would keep us out of the title game and the Rose Bowl, I would have laughed at you and called you dirty names.

Damn, one loss did keep us out of those two games. Hope the B10 represents during bowl season.

Looks like we lost ground in the Jeff Sagarin computer rakings. Last week we were 11th and Wisconsin was 9th. This week we are 15th and Wisconsin is 11th. Looks like we both took a hit this week, but we took a bigger one. Not sure why, but it's not looking like we will be ahead in the computers.

Link? where is MSU?

NM, I see it. MSU is 14.

Sagarin's model has not put Ohio State in a flattering light, that's for sure. Still, Ohio State may not move up much, even with two losses by teams above them, due to playing a lowly rated TSUN and some rather stunning losses by teams we played this year (Ohio, EM, Iowa). Iowa's collapse really means that Ohio State doesn't have a signature win this year.

Don't know how some of the other losses will stack up. What will USC losing to ND do to PAC-10 SOS?

What we gain in the polls, we may lose on the computers. I'm just gonna focus on the results of The Game. In any event, Ohio State probably will get into a BCS bowl again.

BCS Guru projecting tOSU over Wisky in the BCS standings...
Rose Bowl: LSU's loss made the Wisconsin-Ohio State race much closer, because the Tigers were wedged between these two teams in the polls. So close that the Guru is calling Ohio State to edge slightly in front. Keep in mind that the Big Ten will send the highest ranked team in the final BCS standings to the Rose Bowl, so this won't be decided until next week even though the Big Ten schedule is done. The Rose Bowl will be rooting for an Auburn loss, because then it will be free to pick Stanford to replace Oregon.
This week's projected BCS standings: 1. Oregon, 2. Auburn, 3. TCU, 4. Stanford, 5. Ohio State, 6. Wisconsin, 7. Arkansas, 8. Michigan State, 9. LSU, 10. Oklahoma, 11. Boise State, 12. Oklahoma State, 13. Nebraska, 14. Missouri, 15. Nevada.

With LSU losing, OSU moves up and gets the bump that Wisky does not.

But what if, in the Harris, Stanford jumps Wisky? That would mean OSU moves up a spot, and Wisky moves down. That would surely be enough to make up the .054. Unfortunately, fucking Miami and Iowa will hurt our CPU rating.

I've never been more interested in a BCS release.
