Vanessa Bryant is notoriuous for being nuts. I remember Kobe and has family being estranged for a while after he married her, or something like that.

Kobe Bryant at The Insider

Kobe Bryant marries Vanessa Laine

...In 2000, Bryant met and began dating Vanessa Laine when he spotted the then 16-year-old on the set of a music video. After dating for only six months, the two became engaged and were married on April 18, 2001, in California. Bryant?s parents were opposed to the marriage and this led to their being estranged for two years...

Hey, if there is a team out there to be owned by, why not these guys?

As a Lakers fan, I find it just as amusing as I do frustrating. 50/50, but absolutely unexplainable.

We will never see them when it matters, so I gotta chuckle.

I heard this morning that Bynum should be back soon. Anyone know which game?

LAKERS: Andrew Bynum Update: March 27

As of 3/27, per Phil..

Q: On Bynum?s current activity:
Jackson: He?s running on the court and that?s about it. He?s doing some basketball skills, but he?s a considerable amount of time yet before he?s going to be able to even (practicing) with us...

Bynum sharp in Lakers' 92-75 win over Memphis

LOS ANGELES(AP) Andrew Bynum scored 18 points in his third game back from a knee injury and the Los Angeles Lakers rolled to a 92-75 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.
Kobe Bryant took just nine shots, made seven, and finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Pau Gasol, often matched against his brother Marc in the middle, scored 12 points and had 13 rebounds. Trevor Ariza also scored 12 in the Lakers' balanced attack.
The 7-foot Bynum, who missed 32 games after tearing the medial collateral ligament in his right knee Jan. 31, played 25:03 against the Grizzlies. He went 6-of-10 from the floor and had five rebounds.
The Lakers' chances of finishing with the best record in the NBA and earning home-court advantage through the finals all but mathematically ended earlier Sunday when Cleveland, with two games remaining, beat Boston 107-76 to improve to 65-15. With one game left, Los Angeles is 64-17.

Lakers beat Rockets 108-94 to take 2-1 series lead

HOUSTON(AP) Kobe Bryant scored 33 points and the Los Angeles Lakers took a 2-1 lead in their Western Conference semifinal series with a 108-94 victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday night.
Lamar Odom had 16 points and 13 rebounds and reserve point guard Jordan Farmar had 12 points and seven assists in place of the suspended Derek Fisher, who was ejected from Game 2 for a hard hit on Luis Scola when he set a pick.
Game 3 had no signs of the rough play that turned testy in Game 2 until the final minute, when Houston's Ron Artest was ejected for a hard foul on Pau Gasol. Artest was ejected from Game 2 for a verbal altercation with Bryant following Bryant's elbow to Artest's upper chest.
"I don't think that was a flagrant, maybe a flagrant one,'' Bryant said of Artest's ejection. "That rule is so all over the place, it's hard to judge. I'm an '80s baby, so that's just two shots and let's go.''
Artest had 25 points and Yao Ming added 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Rockets but he was bothered by a lower left leg injury in the final minutes and was limping as he left the court.
The Lakers snapped the Rockets' nine-game home winning streak.
Game 4 is Sunday in Houston.

Past time to revive this thread!

RIP Chuck Daly.

LeBron and the Cavs are good. Very good. Bring 'em on. Let's keep the MVP losing streak alive.

Houston is done, as is Yao Ming. He will not suit up due to his ankle, this series will not go 7 games, no questions asked. If it goes 6 I will be disappointed.

Denver is miles ahead of where they were even 3 months ago, but not good enough to beat L.A. in the Western Finals. The Lakers will face Cleveland for the rings.

Kobe or LeBron? We will see!

I wouldn't be so quick to write off Denver. They are playing at a really high level right now...

Couple that with the Lakers being schizophrenic and nothing's for sure. Hell, even without Yao, I'm not entirely confident the Lakers will win this this series; and that hurts like hell to say.
