Looking Ahead To The Combine......2007

I thought Ginn was bigger than 5'11. I always thought he was 6' or 6'1.
College listings often add an inch or two for the 6' guys...

• There may not be much doubt as to who the top tight end prospect in this draft is anymore after Greg Olsen of Miami (FL) scorched an unoffical 4.45 today. In fact, Olsen was a full .2 faster than the next tight end in Indy! It's quite possible that Olsen jumped firmly into round one and made himself millions of dollars with that time. On the other hand Zach Miller of Arizona St. was only able to manage an unofficial 4.83 clocking.

Top Offensive Linemen Run
• Unlike some of the other top prospects Wisconsin OT Joe Thomas, a sure-fire Top 5 pick, opted to workout at the Combine and he certainly didn't do anything to hurt his standing. In fact, Thomas blazed an unofficial 4.96 which is outstanding for an offensive lineman. Arkansas OT Tony Ugoh also impressed with his 4.99 clocking. On the flip-side Penn St. OT Levi Brown, who looked like he had moved into the Top 10 overall, ran a very disappointing 5.39 and if true that will really hurt his stock and maybe even drop him outside of the Top 15-20.

Just heard on ESPIN that Joe Thomas did 28 reps on the 225 Bench Press and as said in this thread previously, ran two different 40's in the 4.9's. Very impressive by most accounts. Most were surprised that he even took part in the work outs. I am starting to get more and more on his bandwagon. I realize that the Lions are probably going to grab him at #2, but if there were a way that he dropped to us at #3, I would be happy.

I finally have to say something positive about Brady Quinn, (blah), I just heard that he did 24 reps on the 225 bench press today. Not too freakin bad. Doesn't mean I want to see him in a Browns uni on Sundays though.
