Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

Bradshaw is interesting. He started the year injured and when he came back he was in the starting lineup. He hit a tie breaking 3 pointer from the top of the key to lead Kentucky to a win at Florida. After that he started losing playing time before eventually being phased out of the offense to only playing a few minutes a game. He has talent but needs to be molded hopefully Coach can do that at Ohio State.
Obviously he had big time foul trouble his freshman year, he committed fouls at the highest rate (5.8 per 40 minutes) on the UK team, aside from Burks who was not a regular player down the stretch of the season. Bradshaw will need to figure out how to cut down on the fouls, and if he can do that, I'm sure he will find success at OSU.

Zvonimir Ivisic to transfer from Kentucky to Arkansas

Kentucky freshman Zvonimir Ivisic announced Monday he will follow John Calipari and transfer to Arkansas.

Ivisic entered the transfer portal over the weekend, becoming the first Kentucky player to leave the program after Mark Pope was named head coach. He's now the first player to follow Calipari to Fayetteville.

In today's edition of as the portal turns, Matt Allocco has committed to ND, UC big Victor Lakhin to Clemson and UM big Tarris Reed to UConn. I think OSU cooled on Allocco after Meechie committed and Gayle left, as clearly there is a need for a big wing who can shoot & start at the 3 for OSU.

Definitely an arms race in the Big Ten now. You add UCLA, Oregon, Washington and USC. Then you see Purdue make it to the Champ game.

A lot of teams stepping up with recruiting and portal activity - even Rutgers!

Winning the league was always special but it will feel like it’s own mini national championship level task as the road grows tougher.

For sure. Kinda sad to see some of the teams like MSU that used to be a contender not really getting much done in the portal. Purdue also, not much of a player for portal talent - didn't hurt them this past season because they did get a very good player in Jones that provided a big lift, but they need to upgrade some areas right now. Wisconsin also hasn't been doing a lot in the portal. We haven't seen UM with new coach May making waves yet, but the dominoes are about to fall there so they're gonna get some big adds very soon & could put themselves in the upper tier of B1G portal players.

Parrish comes to Ohio State with one year of eligibility remaining.

Ohio State has one scholarship left available for the 2024-25 season, which it will likely use to pursue another forward, per the Columbus Dispatch. Two options to fill that final spot are former Oakland forward Trey Townsend – who Parrish played with at Oakland for two seasons – and former Central Arkansas forward Tucker Anderson, who have both been to Ohio State for visits this week.

Interesting that OSU ends up with Micah Parrish of all the wing players they pursued. To tell the truth, I was kinda hoping for more of a knock down shooter with that spot, but clearly he brings some shooting ability along with versatility, defense and the intangibles of being part of a very successful program the past couple of years. I would classify him as a role player, but with the roster as is, I'd say he'll be the starter at the 3 position. He brings a different blend of skills to the 3 position, that 2-way combination of defensive ability & shooting, that I'd say OSU may have been lacking a little bit. Absolutely a good guy to fit into your team.

He is a very different player than Roddy Gayle - not the slasher type like Gayle, but could be a bit of an upgrade shooting the ball. Parrish's strengths were not turning the ball over (9.2 TO% good for #108 nationally), and he's also pretty good at getting steals - in those two areas he's probably an upgrade from Roddy. Parrish didn't get many kenpom game MVPs (certainly LeDee was dominating that category this past season at SDSU), but he did have that game when OSU lost to the Aztecs in Maui.

Certainly if Parrish helps OSU land Trey Townsend, that is a great way to finish off this transfer class. Meechie Johnson, Aaron Bradshaw, and Micah Parrish all played for NCAA tournament teams this past season.
