Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

Well, heck yes. With Zed taking a powder, there's nothing ready behind Felix. The other big, by everything I've read, here and elsewhere, just doesn't 'get it' yet. Not that he won't, but seriously not ready. And by watching this season, am amazed by how heady Zed played. He annoyed Edey so much that the Buckeyes won that game! Felix is getting smarter, but he has fallen in love with the block, and has picked up fouls where he should not have tried for the stuff. Don't want to jinx him by calling him foul-prone.

Kentucky's Aaron Bradshaw 1st to portal as Calipari's exit looms

i

Kentucky freshman Aaron Bradshaw entered the transfer portal Monday, the first domino to fall since the news of John Calipari finalizing a deal to become Arkansas' next head coach.

Bradshaw had considered transferring out of the program before news of Calipari's expected departure, sources told ESPN, following an up-and-down first season in Lexington.

A McDonald's All American in the 2023 class, Bradshaw was ranked No. 6 in the ESPN 100 coming out of high school. However, a foot injury last spring forced him to miss the entire offseason and delayed his Kentucky debut until early December.

Reports today are that OSU is one of the teams listed as "gaining traction" with OU guard Otega Oweh. Oweh has an intriguing profile - he certainly would bring some of the same the elements that OSU lost when Roddy Gayle hit the portal, but Oweh shot the ball much worse from the foul line & turned it over similarly to Gayle while only producing half the assists. Oweh would seemingly be a great fit though, as he can shoot the 3 well and also played outstanding defense, producing steals and blocks at a rate around triple of Gayle. I do see adding some guys with high steal & block rates as being key - I believe Diebler is serious about going up-tempo, so adding players who get steals & help get transition opportunities is a vital element of moving in that direction.

IMO, OSU isn't gonna do any better than Otega Oweh as far as filling Roddy Gayle's shoes.

Yeah, the basketball team never seems to be able to land the "big fish" from the transfer portal, i.e. someone like the equivalent of Will Howard, Caleb Downs, and/or Quinshon Judkins.

The Indiana State Sycamores are in the portal. Most of the important ones, anyway.

Indiana State loses four starters to transfer portal

Ryan Conwell (6' 4"), Isaiah Swope (5' 10"), Jayson Kent (6' 8"), and Julian Larry (6' 3"), four of the five starters from Indiana State's team that made a run to the NIT championship game, all entered the transfer portal on Tuesday.
.
.
.
Conwell was the No. 2 offensive threat, shooting 40.7 percent from 3-point range in 2023-24 while averaging 16.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 38 games. Swope averaged 15.9 ppg, while Kent was the team's leading rebounder (8.1 per game) and fourth-leading scorer (13.5 ppg). Larry filled the point guard role and put up 11.0 points, 4.8 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.
