Look Who's Transferring Now (The Basketball Portal)

OSU also reportedly hosted Vols transfer big man Tobe Awaka last week. Awaka committed to Arizona today. Frankly, I don't mind not getting Awaka. There's really not much upside to his game IMO, he's one of those below the rim bigs but he's actually a bit undersized.

Clearly Sean Stewart has the athletic ability to be a real player, but similar to Bradshaw he struggled with getting in foul trouble. Stewart committed over 7 fouls per 40 minutes played last season at Duke, which actually is a significantly higher rate of fouling than Bradshaw. Stewart didn't attempt any 3-pointers last season.

There is so much tampering going on with players involving rival coaches trying to get them to enter the portal, that head coaches are putting it out there to be the point of contact of the tamperers to simplify/expedite the process.

Kansas State PF Arthur Kaluma has entered the portal. Kaluma is definitely worthy of a big NIL bag being thrown his way if he does decide to return to college. His main drawback is a 20% turnover rate. He'd be a good replacement for Jamison Battle, but of course the sharks are circling out there still.

LET'S GO!

Bradshaw and Stewart together bring so much size, speed, athleticism....this is going to make life for Thornton so much better not having to crash and mix it up so much so hopefully he can stay healthier. If we just had some more shooting this team could be very, very dangerous.

OSU has been in contact with PF Great Osobor

Great Osobor commits to Washington, claims college basketball transfer portal's highest-known paid player

The former Utah State center is in line for millions.

Great Osobor, one of the best-available players and reportedly the highest-paid in the transfer portal, committed to Washington, per George Langberg of GSL Sports Group to ESPN. The former Utah State center and Mountain West Conference Player of the Year is set to make $2 million through NIL opportunities next season with the Huskies after he averaged 17.7 points per game, nine rebounds and 15 double-doubles last season with the Aggies.

Adam Finkelstein, 247Sports director of scouting, wrote Monday , "to be clear, there is absolutely no way to know which player has the highest NIL this year...regardless of what their agents are asking the media to put out there."
.
.
NIL is a major factor in the transfer portal. It's no coincidence that some of the teams who continue to dominate the transfer portal also have structured NIL opportunities set up.

There's no such actual NIL. That's a straight up payday! Urbs is probably livid lol
For sure. When we have agents disclosing the huge payday for the player during the commitment announcement, clearly it's not about NIL, it's about the value the player brings to the team. Washington no doubt was desperate to add to the meager talent on their roster and had to drop a bag or else they'd be looking at Year 1 in the B1G being the worst team in the conference. The most wild part about it is Osobor isn't even a guy who's on the radar of the NBA, he's not even been a legendary star in college, and yet he's somehow becoming perhaps the highest paid talent in the NCAA.

Former Kentucky guard DJ Wagner transferring to Arkansas to reunite with John Calipari for sophomore season

Wagner had highs and lows at UK, now joins high-profile Hogs team with huge goals for first year under Calipari

One of the biggest names in the 2024 portal cycle has made his transfer choice: Former Kentucky lead guard DJ Wagner will be following John Calipari to Arkansas for his sophomore season, the Wagner family told CBS Sports.

Wagner had been in the portal for more than a month and recently took visits to USC and Arkansas. He also flirted with the idea of playing at Oregon and Florida, sources said. After a highly publicized high school career, Wagner's freshman season at UK wasn't quite as productive or prolific as some anticipated. He averaged 9.9 points, 3.3 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 29 games at Kentucky, 28 of which he started. Wagner played 25.8 minutes per game and shot 40.5%. He's a former five-star prospect who at one point was rated No. 1 in the Class of 2023. (He finished No. 6 at 247 Sports.)

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette first reported the news.
