London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

Not to be a killjoy to the typically not funny Facebook memes, but she wasn't anywhere near being Queen or Regent when those were still part of the British Empire.

good God some of the stuff the gymnasts were doing was insane, especially the height on the jumps and releases....

It's insane that these girls will have completely outgrown their sport by the time the next Olympics roll around. At the age where most other athletes are reaching their prime, female gymnasts are considered washed up.

I'm still laughing a bit at the rule, because No. 4 didn't qualify for the All-Around in Women's Gymnastics and No. 28 did.

But some nations voting on some committee probably voted for the rule to benefit their respective gymnasts (who may be in the 20's).

I have a feeling that rule will be changed...and it lasted for a total of one Olympics (which means it was a bad rule).

FOR [censored]S SAKE NBC, GET THE CAMERA OFF WIEBER. She's just a kid.

She could do what I think Ohio State football should do whenever a cameraman is trying to peak inside the huddle (on the sidelines)...

...just start cursing wildly. Invent curse words. Camera will turn away quickly .

That incident (NBC waiting to interview Wieber) and whatever Hope Solo is doing are my two-most cringe-worthy moments thus far in London 2012.

It would actually be comical if London 2012 indeed couldn't build a Olympic Flame tower due to budget cuts.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/olympics--fans-disappointed-they-can-t-see-olympic-flame.html

It will be stationed at one end of the stadium, but, unlike the Bird's nest in Beijing, it's not high enough to be visible from the outside.

London's Olympic budget was cut because of the economic downturn but it's not known whether that contributed to the decision on how to place the flame.

Budget cuts probably aren't the reason, rather an overzealous designer. It would still be funny, if true.

I've been to Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Vancouver and all had outdoor (visible) Olympic flames.
