London Olympics: "We're pretty much ready..."

It would actually be comical if London 2012 indeed couldn't build a Olympic Flame tower due to budget cuts.

Budget cuts probably aren't the reason, rather an overzealous designer. It would still be funny, if true.

I've been to Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Vancouver and all had outdoor (visible) Olympic flames.

I thought the flame had to be visible from the outside? I was disappointed when I saw its what 15feet off the ground?

Lochte choked in that relay. Everyone else did their jobs/ had good splits, except for him.

Maybe the coach shouldn't have switched him and Phelps and let Phelps swim the last leg....I thought Phelps kind of dissed him in the interview after the race saying that the things that count most in the relay are the first and last legs....

If you watch the archived footage (on NBCOlympics.com), I don't think I've ever seen a rower as behind as Niger's Hamadou Djibo Issaka was both Saturday and Sunday.

Good for him to keep trying, since he just started the sport (and was blasted by some in the rowing community for even being included in the Olympics).

The women's gymnastics is always amazing. The only way my body will ever be able to do flips and twists like that is if I'm ejected from my vehicle in an automobile accident...

Speaking of which, has BN27 selected his "Carly Patterson" of 2012?

Overall, I think maybe the YouTube technology may be better for archiving than what NBCOlympics.com used for streaming for China.

I believe they used Microsoft Silverlight, but can't remember (four years ago).
