Not sure if this is a spoiler or not since it's qualifying, but...

Phelps almost doesn't qualify for the 400 IM. He just beat out a guy by .07 of a second for 8th place. At the time he didn't realize it, and was in a heat with a bunch of scrubs. He won his heat (barely), and almost missed out on the finals. Lochte also pulled way back at the end and got beat in his heat, but he wasn't flirting with missing the final like Phelps.

Didn't realize they did the 400IM that way, but lucky for Phelps that he didn't ease up too much at the end of that race. Should be fun watching them race later today but it's probably Lochte's to loose. Hopefully it'll be an exciting one.
