There is this thought that how a coach acts, a team acts.

I think Loyd's reactions effect his teams mentality.
It makes them more prone to not look at themselves when things go badly.
A "Blame" mentality.

I heard this on the radio here in Cincinnati this morning. A scUM fan stated that LLLLloyd said that scUM is going to begin scheduling it's 12th game (final non-conference game) two weeks after The Game in order to avoid this type of situation in the future and to have a bye week. I did a quick google and couldn't find anything about this. I'm taking it with a grain of salt as you know how those scUMers lie. This would truly suck if they are really planning to do this.

Real bad idea. If Voyd leads his team to the Poinsettia or Vegas Bowl they would only have a week or two to prepare.

For once, I think that VLoyd handled this scenario about as good as he possible could. (Although I would love to see a list of the scUM bashing comments that Urban supposedly made.) Actually, it was almost out of character for him. I mean we are so use to seeing him whining constantly on the sidelines, to the point of it being embarassing IMO. Maybe he has actually learned something from JT after all :wink2:.

I wish Tressel would have pulled the old "I voted but it was lost in the shuffle with Steve Sapp" routine. The privilege to vote in the polls is just that and should be treated as such. It is not a political gamut. It is big money and involves the lives of coaches, kids and families and should be taken seriously. He voted every other week (except for that little Texas snafu). Maybe Gene talked him into this decision? Either way this does appear "slick".

On a related note. Voyd looks and sounds like a bitch again because he lost. He should have noticed two weeks ago there was no popular for a rematch.

I'm not so sure I see voting in the poll as a "privilege." Makes it sound like some kind of honor, and it's not. I doubt very seriously that Tressel is worried about losing his ballot, and your over statements about the lives at risk strikes me as highly absurd.

If the vote is to be taken seriously Bigwhite then it should be confidential and not used as cannon fodder by the media.

And Michigan should have realized that Nov18th was for all the marbles! Sounds like a kid saying he didn't realize the final exam was so final!

Michigan and their fans have no reason or right to complain about not making the Championship game. They already played us, and lost. That's as fair as it gets. Maybe they are #2? But would it have been fair to not give the #3 team a shot at #1, after the #2 team already lost to #1? No it wouldn't.

Florida vs. Ohio State is fair
Michigan vs. Ohio State is unfair

Only one thing is KNOWN for certain. Michigan lost to Ohio State. Nobody knows if Florida would lose or not. So we'll play the best team we haven't played yet...and see if we are better than them. That's fair.

That said...I wanted to play Michigan. It would have been real fun and made for quite an exciting game. Let's just hope we beat Florida.

To even give hope to TSUN after the loss USC took was a pipe dream to Scum fans and a reason for whining. I'm kinda sick of hearing scum fans the last 2 days talk about what if and "if we had another chance to play you we would kick ass sweater vest wearing ass"
keep it real Scummers wait till next year thats when you will play us again.

Can you imagine the lynching parties running around Ann Arbor if they build The Game up as a revenge thing next year and then lose it up there? I haven't thought about who gets hurt most by losses or anything about next year, but just imagine what happens if that happens. It will be something else to tell your grandchildren about :slappy:

My opinion is this. He was damned if he did and damned if he didn't. If he voted Michigan it would be "He is a homer for Michigan." Gator fans would bitch about him not wanting to face them. If he voted for the Gators it would be he was scared to face Michigan again. Or a turncoat against the Big Ten.

So, I personally think he did the right thing. But, I really doubt any of our opinions matter...
