You could start the season #1, for all I care. Let's see how you do after the season starts before we see crown anyone with anything.
I guess the raters don't feel there are many teams that can be good, either that or they were too lazy that day to get it right.
Carr will get them through the easy games as usual. His D will lose the big ones

FWIW and I stress that this is a rumor.
I was talking to a business aquaintance yesterday and he is a grad of tsun.
Any way I was in the MacDonalds where he works and he told me that he happened to be up in tsun over the weekend and he was told my many people who are in the position to know that Carr will be gone this year if he loses to the Buckeyes.
I think I would hate to see that happen.

I've been saying that since right after we beat them in AA in 2005...that being if we beat them in 2006 (which we did) and then up in their place again in 2007 (which we will), he's gone regardless of what else he does...

This may well be true, but my experience tells me that even if the "powers that be" had be had made such a decision they would not have told anyone - let alone "many people". Much as I hate Michigan they are not run that poorly.

I certainly believe many many people in Michigan are speculating as much, but that is not the same as having such a decision pre-ordained. This is just more gossip.

Now if this happened in a Burger King .....

This rings true for me. :wink2:

Yeah, I think I'd have to apply the Waynes World rule of insider information here. Don't take inside info from people who have an extensive collection of job related name tags or hair nets.

My guess is that Carr is gone after this year, regardless. If he loses to Ohio State again, the AD or president may "politely ask" him to retire. If he wins, he'll retire and the fans will elevate him to Bo's status in their folk songs.

You lost me with that comment.

I love how Michigan fans quickly say that Meyer will turn Michigan into a powerhouse, if this is all true (i highly doubt it). Meyer is a midmajor coach, he is good at sneaking up on the big boys with a gimmicky offense. He will do no better than Spurrier at a major college.

He has to learn that there is more to a team than an offense, true champs always have a smothering defense.

i was just reading through the thread from the beginning, and that comment struck me... whoops.
