With the way Tressel has out coached Carr and OSU has kicked Michigan's butt 4 out of the last 5 years, I guess he needs something to point the finger at to lay the blame on. Seat must be getting hot up in Ann Arbor!
I doubt the seat is too hot...I don't see Carr going anywhere. I do agree someone needs to take the blame, but remember every time you point the finger, you have 3 pointing back at yourself

IVLloyd has a very short memory. Michigan, like all teams, has won more than a few games on missed/blown calls. A few years ago they beat Illinois in a game that kept Illinois from vying for a Big 10 championship. In that case the refs reviewed the film, admitted they blew the call. the Illini AD asked for Michigan to forfeit the game and they of course told the Illini to kiss off. I have no sympathy whatsoever.

Any of you historians out there remember the incident?

Yeah, I remember that one, and alos the one against Minny when scUM had the A Train.
There were two fumble calls, one when scUM fumbled and one when Minny fumbled. BOTH calls when scUM's way and BOTH calls were dead wrong.

the way i see it is the referee saw gonzo go out of bounds which immediately causes him to throw his hat and that ref was right along the sideline so he could see whether he was pushed out or not. the michigan defender was backing to cover gonzalez and nudged him out leading the ref to state he went out of bounds but was forced out. i thought it was obvious but like usual everybody has to scrutinize our big wins:!

Speaking of the officials on Gonzo's catch, I wonder why LLLLoyd's not complaining about the lack of a very obvious interference call on that play?

Or the 2 or 3 times earlier in the game when even though the play clock had run out, scUM was not penalized for delay of game?

Or the ridiculous interfenerece call they whistled Everett for earlier in the game, allowing scUM to score a TD instead of having to settle for a FG?

Or the ultra ridiculous excessive celebration penalty they called on Holmes for diving into the end zone that set scUM up in great field position, practically handing the game to them?

On if the ineffectiveness running the ball was more a product of injuries up front or the younger back not being ready:
"Was it an issue of the young guys not being ready? How do you look at that situation and evaluate it? Well, it's a good question, and I think the answer is very complex. I think we have run the football, at times during this season, extremely well. And at times we haven't. I had a meeting this morning and that very question is what I am trying to come to grips with because we were in this game. I knew this was a great defense. Make no mistake about that. But we still felt like we could run the football for over 100 yards. Had we been able to do that, I think the difference would have been significant. But I think you cannot look at that game without taking into consideration, for example, that Jake Long played with an injury that he is going to have surgically repaired tomorrow. And Adam Kraus didn't play. And Tim Massaquoi went out...I don't know exactly what stage. And Mike Hart went out. And Jerome Jackson did not play. And yet you still want to be able to run the football more effectively. I thought Terry Malone did an excellent job based on how the game developed. I mean, we didn't expect Mike Hart to go out. And when he does, we're a different team. So you have to adapt to the game, and I think he did that. But the answer to that question is pretty complex because the other part of it is that is an outstanding defense and a veteran defense. I mean a big, strong defense line with great (linebackers). Hawk is a great player. I mean Hawk made some plays in that game that only great players will make."

So basically he's saying all his players are a bunch of pussies. And why did the thought not occur to him that Hart might go out. The little guy has only played in half of their games with bad ankles and knees. He ran for less than 600 yards going into the game with us and he's surprised they didn't run the ball well against one of the best rushing defenses in the country? Please Lllloyd...save it.
