B-Horse, you are right in that we had a superior team yesterday. We were horrendous on special teams, were -2 in T.O. ratio, and still won the game. this game showed in spots how damn good our team could really be when we executed well. I think scUM played about as well as they possibly could have - they just didn't have good enough players on the O-line and on Defense to be able to beat tOSU without some major help from tOSU. We made more mistakes than would usually be fatal in this game, especially when it's in AA, and we still won.

NFBuck, you are right that LLLoyd is well-loved in scUMland and will be there as long as he cares to be, unless things change drastically.
I only hope they don't get a new DC and new special teams coaches.
Look at how Mack Brown was viewed before this year, then he gets an awesome new DC, and Bam! they go undefeated. Turns out maybe Mack wasn't so bad after all....

Lloyd will likely survive....but John Bunting at NC and Mooby Chuck Amato at NCSU may not be as lucky.

After all the money and recognition NCSU has gotten because of Mooby, they want to fire him now?

Where exactly were they before he came to town? Thats right, sucking ass. Could they have FSU's number before man-boobs? Maybe in basketball.

Now they are at least competitive, have a bit of profile and a bunch of new facilities from the excitement he generated from the alumni. Its funny how their collective inferiority complex makes them have this irrational idea that they belong among the elite schools. Kinda sad actually.

If they fire him they'll go straight back to the cellar imo.

Not sure if they are going to fire him or just let him ease into a department role, but he is not very popular right now...

I agree they'll sink again...hell, they aren't very far from the cellar now.

Yeah. Here's NCSU conference record for the past 25 years. They hardly covered themselves in glory before or during Amato's time. At least with Amato people actually pay attention to them and donate money (at least they did).

the AD commented right after the 3-3 downfall that you have to look at the body of work by carr. That body of work is almost entirely filled with 3 loss seasons. Rest assured, our lllloyd cooper is here to stay.

Well, considering Michigan NEVER loses 3 games in a season, they'll have a hard time firing a guy who goes at least 9-2 every year

In all seriousness, no. It's far too much of a pain in the ass for a major college program to find a suitable new coach to can Carr, at least yet. If they still suck and underachieve after 2007, then it is 10 years after his title, and then maybe they'll look into it more, but for now, he's not going anywhere unless he wants to.
Howmany people thought Frank Solich wasn't going to be fired after going 9-2 and winning their bowl game. I think he has one year and he would have to beat tOSU, make a BCS bowl and win it to stay at Michigan.

Carr isn't the only one who doesn't know the rules

Brownies
Michigan product Edwards lost a bet to ex-Ohio State defensive lineman Simon Fraser and will have to wear a Buckeyes cap and jersey all week. Edwards said he'll probably buy quarterback Troy Smith's jersey.... Crennel gave the players an extra day off today.... Dolphins tight end Randy McMichael on his 23-yard first-quarter touchdown nullified because he stepped out of bounds first. ``I didn't know what happened. It happened last night in the Ohio State game, but this is the NFL

Dolphins' receiver

The Tar Heels would be making a mistake in firing Bunting. They had a tough schedule this year. Duke was the only breather, and they're 5-5 with good wins over B.C, at GaTech, and at N.C.St, which helps their local recruiting. They are steadily getting better.

If they would have scheduled a couple of patsies instead of Wiscy and Louisville, they'd have ended up 7-4.
