Have we banned any mention of Lemmon over here yet? If not, here is his latest top 12, with a few mentions of tOSU. In his chat yesterday, tOSU wasn't mentioned once...I love this guy...:roll2:

Perrilloux jumps to No. 1

<HR width="100%" noShade SIZE=1>
By Tom Lemming
Special to ESPN Insider

With senior seasons completed or almost in the books, it's time to revisit the nation's top prospects. As always, some players have prospered during their senior season, while others have slipped. The changes start right at the top this year as QB Ryan Perrilloux has vaulted to the No. 1 position in my top 100, while former No. 1 Callahan Bright has slipped to No. 12. The other interesting note on the Class of 2005 is the number of great running backs. I have five ranked in my top 10 for the first time in memory. Here's a look at my Dandy Dozen for 2005:

perrilloux_s.jpg
1. Ryan Perrilloux
Quarterback
6-4, 210
Reserve (East St. John), La.

Ryan Perrilloux is simply the most talented player in the country. He has really put together the kind of sensational senior campaign needed to shoot him up the rankings from No. 8 to No. 1. The dual-threat QB has amassed over 3,000 yds and 27 touchdowns passing, while rushing for over 1,200 yards and 34 touchdowns this season. Perrilloux, who reminds me of Donovan McNabb, is the most dominating ballplayer to come out of the New Orleans area in years. He is committed to Texas but continues to hear from LSU Florida State , and Miami.

greg_paulus_s.jpg
2. Greg Paulus
Quarterback
6-2, 180
Syracuse (Christian Brothers), N.Y.

Greg Paulus is right there with Ryan Perrilloux. Either one could be considered the nation's top prospect. Paulus reminds me of one of the all-time greats -- Joe Montana. Paulus has completed 185-of-293 passes for 3,085 yards and 38 touchdowns this season. He should reach 4,000 yards by the end of the playoffs. Everyone is still waiting to see if Paulus will sign a basketball letter of intent with Duke this week. If not, the football/basketball recruit could be willing to look at some other schools. Virginia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Boston College, Ohio State and Miami are all in pursuit.

jstewart_sm.jpg
3. Jonathan Stewart
Running back
5-11, 220
Olympia (Timberline), Wash.

This is turning into the year of the running back, and Jonathan Stewart is leading the way. I called Stewart the best back in the country since I met him and studied his film back in May. I'm still sticking by that statement. Stewart has rushed for over 1,900 yards and 28 touchdowns, while averaging over 11 yards per carry. He also returned a punt back for a score. He's already visited Washington State and will visit USC November 27th and Tennessee on December 10. As for his last two visits, Stewart will choose between Ohio State, Notre Dame and Cal.

baker_thumb.jpg
4. Toney Baker
Running back
5-10, 220
Jamestown (Ragsdale), N.C.

Like Stewart, Toney Baker is having an exceptional senior campaign. He has rushed for 3,000 yards and 37 touchdowns through 11 games. Baker just passed the 10,000-yard career rushing mark. He also has 136 total touchdowns. With four more games to go in 2004, Baker could surpass 4,000 yards for the season. Not quite as fast as Stewart, Baker is an exceptional power back with the best vision among all the great senior backs. He will visit North Carolina State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and North Carolina.

mSanchez_s.jpg
5. Mark Sanchez
Quarterback
6-3, 290
Mission Viejo, Calif.

All Mark Sanchez does is win. Of course, the QB's exceptional poise, arm strength and leadership skills play a big part in that. Through 10 games this season, Sanchez has completed 113-of-177 passes for 1,803 yards and 17 touchdowns. He has completed 64 percent of his passes and has been picked off just twice. Sanchez, who is as cool as they come, has what it takes to unseat John David Booty or Rocky Hinds at USC.

grady_thumb.jpg
6. Kevin Grady
Running back
5-11, 220
East Grand Rapids, Mich.

Kevin Grady possesses the identical size, strength and production as both Stewart and Baker. I truly believe that Michigan sensation Mike Hart will have to share running back duties with Grady next year. The duo should terrorize the Big 10 for the next three years. Grady has rushed for 2,365 yards and 34 touchdowns on 298 carries this season, averaging 7.9 yards per rush. Grady has already broken the state record for points, yards rushing and touchdowns.

derrick_williams_s.jpg
7. Derrick Williams
Wide receiver
6-1, 185
Greenbelt (Roosevelt), Md.

Derrick Williams, the most recruited wide receiver the country, has once again been used mainly at quarterback this season. The talented prospect will once again total over 2,500 yards of offense in 2004. Williams and Ryan Perrilloux have to be considered the most athletic players in the nation. Williams has already visited Florida and Penn State and will also visitTennessee, Oklahoma and Texas.

mendenhall_thumb.jpg
8. Rashard Mendenhall
Running back
5-10, 210
Skokie (Niles West), Ill.

Rashard Mendenhall played in only 6½ games this season due to a severe hamstring problem. Still, he amassed close to 1,500 yards rushing and averaged 8 yards per carry playing behind an inexperienced offensive line. An impact player when healthy, Mendenhall should give Illinois the offensive boost the Illini sorely need.

rouse_fred_s.jpg
9. Fred Rouse
Wide receiver
6-4, 185
Tallahassee (Lincoln), Fla.

Playing on a run-oriented team Fred Rouse does not get as many chances as most of the nation's premier wide receivers. However, there is no wide receiver the country who strikes as much fear in the heart of a defense as Rouse. Through nine games this season, he has caught 23 passes for 538 yards and 6 touchdowns. Rouse also has scored touchdowns on a punt return, a kickoff return, a reverse and an interception. Texas Florida State, USC and LSU lead the way for his services.

lucky_marlon_s.jpg
10. Marlon Lucky
Running back
6-0, 200
North Hollywood, Calif.

As I said earlier, 2004 is the year the running back and Marlon Lucky is a perfect example of why. His junior film proved that he was an exceptional talent, but he has exceeded all expectations in 2004. At midseason, he was on his way to bettering last season 1,780 yards and 31 touchdowns. He is also caught 20 passes for over 250 yd. and When it comes to running, catching and blocking, Lucky might turn out to be the best overall back in the country. I expect him to make an immediate impact on the Nebraska offense. He could very well do for the Cornhuskers what Mike Hart and Adrian Peterson are doing for Michigan and Oklahoma this season.

granger_s.gif
11. DeMarcus Granger
Defensive lineman
6-2, 310
Dallas (Kimball), Texas

Demarcus Granger has moved up the list and become the most recruited defensive lineman in the nation. Granger has 71 tackles, 42 unassisted tackles, 27 tackles for losses 17 quarterback sacks, nine caused fumbles, one blocked field-goal and 28 knockdowns this season. That's a career for many high school defensive lineman. Granger has proven to be a difference maker playing both tackle and end. He can occupy as many as four blockers on one given play. Right now, the most recruited player in Texas is looking at LSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Texas.

callahan_bright_s.jpg
12. Callahan Bright
Defensive lineman
6-3, 315
Bryn Mawr (Harriton), Pa.

I'm sad to report that Callahan Bright, the most talented defensive lineman in the nation, has spent a good part of this season on the sidelines due to suspensions. He is currently expelled from school, but will have a hearing and may be allowed to return. Regardless, his football season is over. Before violating school policy and rules, Bright totaled five quarterback sacks in four games and was credited with 37 tackles. He is a superior talent who reminds me of a young Warren Sapp. If he funnels his energy and natural aggressiveness into playing, Bright will be an All-American in college, and a standout in the NFL. He has already visited Purdue and will visit Texas A&M on December 10. He is also planning on visiting Florida State, Miami and USC

I knew Grady was from the western part of the scUM state, but I just noticed that he is at East Grand Rapids. E. Grand Rapids High is the school that the American Pie movies were based off of as East Great Falls. I can just see Grady with Lloyd right now, "suck me beautiful!!!"

He'll fit right in at either of those two schools.

Does anyone know why Todd Denlinger's rankings have dropped like a rock.

I saw that Rivals dropped him off of their hot 100 list too
I recall reading some time ago that Denlinger had a rough season because of injuries on his team he was forced to play multiple positions on offense and defense. He wore down a bit and didn't have a chance to excel anywhere.

I thought it was Insiders who had him in the 90s and he still may be there. I 'm pretty sure that one of the two (Rivals/Insiders) never had him in the rankings.
