The girls at this HS are VERY aggressive... and youngest was a major target...
I could site numerous stories for proof.. but trust me

I took him thru a Burger King... and said "pay attention to the guy at the window"
we ordered.. came around... and I repeated "pay attention to the guy at the window"
he's watching... and looking very puzzled... I repeated and he blurted out...
"what am I looking for?"

I said "if you're not careful, that's you.. in your second job"
"your first job will pay YOUR bills, this job will pay for the kid"
"while your buddies are in college having an absolute blast..
this is where you'll spend Friday and Saturday nights"

Don't drink and drive, and don't ride with somebody who's been drinking too much. Either situation can result in serious, perhaps permanent, repercussions.

As a parent, let him know to take an Uber/Lyft in such a situation, and consider telling him that you'll always be willing to pick him up and give him and his friends a ride home, any time day or night.

Life is just going to be hard at times and you will feel lost. Expecting it and knowing everything will eventually pass helps tremendously. Even the worst situations seem to pass.

My kid has had a pretty incredible life which I’m proud of. But it’s not going to be that way for him all the time when he is on his own. Even now, sometimes I’m like “damn, life is tough”

Also, of note... I’ve just shared this with ‘lil Sparcboxbuck... who towers over me and is my youngest son wrapping up his last semester as a HS sophomore. Will be curious to his thoughts when he reads.
