Les Miles (grass eater)

the LSU fan base is stupid.

do I think Les Miles is the best out there? of course not.

do I think things have gotten stale and we could use a lil freshening up? absolutely.

do I think another coach can come in and improve upon what we've become the last 3 years? the right guy, yes.

but I'm viewing this from inside the bubble. I have watched every single snap of his tenure, so his flaws and shortcomings are glaring and obvious to me.

anyone outside that bubble (most importantly potential candidates to replace Miles) will only see that averaging better than 10 wins per year, multiple conf titles, a natty and an appearance in another, and highest winning % in school history will get you fired at LSU.

South Carolina will pay roughly the same money as LSU. If their new coach goes on a Miles type run, they will put up a statue of him and rename streets on campus after the guy.

at LSU, you might not survive.

which job would you take?

Maybe Les can take the South Carolina job. They've been happy with nine win seasons and terrible QB play for years.

I don't think Les can survive this one.

everyone knew that his job was at the very least potentially on the line these last 2 weeks. and we show up unprepared and disorganized and play a sloppy penalty infested shit show.

yeah great the offense put up yards. but not points.

delay of games, formation penalties, etc.

coming out of a timeout our QB and RB weren't even running the same play.

and for the 3rd week in a row we got pushed around and showed very little fight. I don't ever remember an LSU team looking this soft. And I don't mean just physically. I mean we just roll over when things aren't going our way.

LSU even in the dark ages of the 90s at least showed some damn spirit.

Miles looks old and exhausted in press conferences. and that's how the team plays lately.

I'm not feeling real confident about A&M next week. we're probably going to get beat by a bunch of queers with jizz jars in front of a half empty stadium in senior day.

I've always liked Les.

His personality fit in well here, seemed to genuinely love LSU, and ran a clean program.

he kicked two of the best players off his teams even though it wasn't popular because it was the right thing to do.

if this truly is the end of an era, thank you Les.
it's been one hell of a ride.

the fans and TAF want Jimbo.

Jimbo's track record with college QBs is what they're after, and I can't really argue against it from a purely X and O standpoint.

4 of his last 5 starting QBs (going back to his time as OC here) have gone on to be first round picks. Jamarcus Russell, Christian Ponder, EJ Manuel, and crab legs.

Les Miles' tenure at LSU may be over; buyout not an issue, source says

The $15 million-dollar buyout clause that is in Les Miles' contract is what many perceive as one of the bigger hang-ups in making a move.

JUST WOW, $15M not an issue.

Re: Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher is the main target for many foundation members. Other names tossed around include Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, TCU head coach Gary Patterson and even former NFL coach Jon Gruden.

Chucky......

Re: LSU has been vetting other coaches they may be interested in hiring as replacements, and it is apparent that the foundation wants the hire to be an established coach, not a rising star in the coaching ranks. Media outlets have mentioned many names as a possible replacement, but I am told that the group believes they can sway a highly regarded coach at another school, and are not limited to available candidates looking for employment.

Yeah, and some of those "highly regarded coaches" will let it be known through intermediaries that they are interested, get an offer, and only use it to leverage a better deal at their existing school; while all the time professing that they had no interest whatsoever to go to the other school.

Saban back to LSU?

Yeah, and it would undoubtedly help his book sales:
