That's funny. Until you mentioned that, I didn't read the story, but just assumed from the headline they had at least helped some weak swimmer get out of 8 ft of water or something. Now I'm not sure what's funnier - that LSU football decided to issue a statement to the press over "two guys step into deep puddle to remove item from car", or that the local sports reporter took that bone and ran with it.
