Les Miles (grass eater)

Les Miles attempting to humiliate a kid because he chose a different school.

I guess this is part of why I can't really get too wrapped up in following recruiting. Let me know on signing day how the class is ranked, and I'm good.

One could look at that 2 ways I guess...one is fuck Les Miles, he sounds like a bitter prick, but 2 I suppose would be at least he didn't throw a hissy fit at the time and attempt to complicate his attempt to go to a different school by publicly questioning him then. He at least waited to give his opinion until after he was already somewhere else...some coaches wouldn't have done that.

I am loving the righteous indignation I'm seeing from some of the national press, especially juxtaposed with how many of them celebrate the mythos of "The Mad Hatter."

If you're going to help create the monster, don't gripe when he bites someone.

Meh. Looks like he was addressing the LSU faithful and not the national media. I see no problem with what he said based on the audience (if I am perceiving it correctly).
Yeah, banquet comments never get leaked or recorded :so:

That is the problem with social media and the electronic age, things like this get taken way out of context. All he was doing was playing the part and pandering to his audience, like all coaches do. Firing up the fan base, as it were. I really don't see it as a big deal.

If Meyer were to be caught on camera saying something like "Well, there were a couple of guys that just couldn't handle the pressure of being in the Scarlet and Gray...." in reference to recruits that did not sign with Ohio State during a banquet for the team and boosters, I would bet everyone here would say it was no big deal.

Now, if he would have said this during an interview or a regular press conference, I would be signing a different tune.

Another (less positive) way of looking at the bolded above is that he waited to criticize until the ink was dry. Perhaps Les thought he could get Kiel to reconsider, but yesterday, when there was finally no going back, Les came out swinging.

Kiel had enrolled at ND when their semester started. He was no longer a recruit. I think this was just the first time the discussion of the recruiting class, and those that were not a part of it, was public and Les didn't hold back.

Pretty shitty thing to call out some 18 year like that. I might care more if it wasn't for the fact that his statement is true (I hate Kiel and he's definitely a momma's boy prima dona- Have fun Domers!)

it's a big reason why I don't follow it.
I don't care who commits, decommits, don't commit, etc.
after they sign, i go read about them then.

this was never meant to go public.
the quality of the video tells me this wasn't a news crew who filmed it.

but he needs to be smarter than that.
nothing you say in front of a group of people stays out of the public eye very long.

he should have just left the Kiel situation alone.

would be more interesting to see Liggins and JaMarcus in a twinkie eating contest.
dude is 20 pounds heavier than JR, but at least 3 inches shorter.
he'll be a lineman before his career in Baton Rouge is done.

Maybe Kiel figures that in the big games, he'd be on the sideline watching another quarterback struggle in same said big game. Maybe he didn't want to end his college career wondering if he could have made the difference in the big game?

Maybe he just likes a red azzed coach, and not one who eats grass.

I guarantee Miles didn't do himself any favors when he chose to leave a senior QB on the sideline while another one struggled in a national championship game against a team he had beaten already once before.

Or, maybe he just didn't want to play for a Meeeechicken man?
