I've been down to central/south Florida and gets damn cold there, too. Ocala was below freezing for a week, and it had lows in the 40s for weeks. Not to mention hurricanes and some of the worst thunderstorms on the planet. Don't imply that it's always warm and sunny year 'round down there.
I live in Hawaii where the weather is indeed as consistently warm and sunny as you imply Miami is (Honolulu's all-time summer high is 95 and all-time winter night low is 56--not even a swing of 40 degrees between all-time extremes). I was born and raised in NE Ohio, and even though I chose to live here over Ohio or any other mainland location, I do miss the seasonal changes, especially the snow. When I go back to Youngstown in November for my reunion, I'm hoping they have to typical snowy, overcast, dreary weather. Now, I wouldn't want to go through a whole winter there anymore, but the same weather month after month does wear thin, believe it or not.
