Gilbert comes off as a jilted ex-lover in this. I love the passion, but his staff should have had him sleep on it.

Why? Here is my take on the letter:

Dan G is the owner, true indeed, but first and foremost he is a FAN of the Cavs. Like the rest of us fans, we were pissed about the public bitchslap LeBeeyotch handed us on worldwide tv.

I think LeBeyotch got off light.

lebron had the class to call the knicks 30 minutes in advance to tell them he didn't select new york, but couldn't extend any sort of courtesy to cleveland? fuck that. i know this will probably get deleted, but I hope his crack whore mom OD's in the middle of South Beach on some bad cuban blow she snorted out Chris Bosh's taint.

Tell em why you mad son! :banger:

The comments are priceless...... Lebroner apologists keep making the same [censored]ing assumptive false arguments that drive me up a wall.... they are any combo of the following.

a) Gilbert is mad cause he left town
b) He was surrounded by scrubs and Cleveland did nothing to win him a championship
c) Lebron unselfishly wanted a better situation for his family and to win as a team, why are people angry?
d) the fans are mad just because he left town

So what are the real reasons? That you feel betrayed? That's in (a) and (d). If these reasons are wrong, what are the right ones?

Nobody expects you Cavs' fans to get over it, but don't expect us to get your irrational contempt for the guy. Every person who's not emotionally invested in the Cavs sees the situation for what it is:

a) a guy leaving a cold city for the warm beaches of Miami
b) a guy leaving a team with a literal mother f-er (anybody who wouldn't kill if a buddy did this?) for a team filled with his friends
c) a guy leaving a team that would never win for one that can't help but win
d) a guy taking less money for a better situation (completely neutralizing the selfishness angle that so many critics seem all too eager to take).

Cleveland has 48 days of snow every year, coupled with an average temp of 50 degrees. Miami has 3150 hours of sun a year and no snow, coupled with an average temp of 76 degrees.

Again, those who are emotionally involved will never get the rest of us. Those of us who aren't emotionally involved will never feel like you do.

By the way, where was the complaining on this site when Mike Brown and Danny Ferry were fired? Wasn't it at least a little disloyal to fire them after they had the best record in the east two years running?

Repeat Colin Cowherd much?

I don't know how a person can get on here and say something was not going on with LeBron during that Celtics series. Maybe it was his elbow, maybe he just found out that Delonte was [censored]ing his mom, or maybe his mind was already on the beach, but I have never seen LeBron's body language or his game like that...

Or a combination of the three...like a mental Jeffrey.

:slappy:

Just imagine all the rings LeBron would have if it weren't for the stupid team. :roll2:

LeBron got to the Finals on a team that gave playing time to Damon Jones, but he couldn't get back or even win one on a team with Antawn Jamison or Mo Williams?

Mike Brown I'm sure is a decent man, but he was an incompetent boob of a coach. He was also implicitly kept aboard as long as he was at LeBron's behest.

Danny Ferry wasn't fired at all - he was negotiating a new contract and walked away from the table. Don't let facts get in the way of your rationalizations though.

Besides, if you're going to attack the Cavs' not retaining Brown/Ferry, then you're talking out of both sides of your mouth when you also attack them for supposedly not putting James in a position to win.

You're absolutely right on both points. My bad.
