Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

FYI - Looks like the Cavs found their new coach... Brian Shaw. Just a matter of time til it is announced as twitter is abuzz about him putting together a staff of assistants at this moment while he works out the contract details.

:sick1:. Well, that about seals that deal that LeBron won't be re-signing with the Cavs, IMO. An unproven assistant coach with zero head coaching experience (in the NBA or otherwise)? LeBron's been down that road before. If Shaw to Cleveland is true, it's just another marvelous decision by the Cavs front office. :roll2:

Well, Chicago has the same situation. I think people don't realize that much more can be going on behind the scenes than is being let on. Gilbert is a bright guy. You don't get to be a billionaire by being stupid...

this is false. the cavs front office actually met with lebron recently, after shaw was slotted for an interview. do you honestly think this subject wasn't broached in that meeting? Mike Brown was a glorified defensive coordinator. Shaw was the man in waiting behind Jackson and is more respected by players than mike brown ever will be. Shaw also played extensively in the NBA which was a big deal to lebron and others.

Disagree w 07 also... Shaq was just about making commercials for the Cavs to go after Shaw... He spoke extremely highly of Shaw... and started immediately after Brown was dismissed... Shaq has played for some of the titans of his era so I'll bank on his opinion

kobe bryant basically worships the guy. you won't find any players that have played for him that will speak poorly of him. and as was mentioned, the bulls made a similar hire, except shaw had 5x the responsibilities that thibodeau did. with jackson's age and health issues, Shaw was the de facto HC many times this season. He is in no way comparable to mike brown.

just as long as he recognizes an Antawn Jamison/Kevin Garnett match-up problem, I'm cool.

Hopefully he has LeBron's versatility to play with. Something Potato-head never utilized.

shaw would have ran the pick and roll with lebron and AJ right at garnett until garnett either took himself out, had his knee explode, or picked up 4 fouls, instead of running it successfully for a game then never going back to it. he wouldn't have put jamison 20 feet from the hoop and stationary so garnett had to expend no energy to guard him. he also wouldn't have force fed shaq in the post against kendrick perkins.

Fuck, it's mind boggling Mike Browns was an NBA head coach for five seasons. :smash:

Pierce is gonna opt out?? He's crazy to think that anyone would give him a new max deal. Maybe someone is dumb enough to do that but idk who???? He should come to Cleveland for a slight pay cut :)

Isiah Thomas is fucking whacked out there is no way I'm going to read that article..
