Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

A strained elbow and a bone bruise is actually a pretty serious injury even for a God among mortals. Players don't shoot left handed jumpers in practice for no reason, and left handed free throws when the game is in doubt.

It's just something he's going to have play through. It's an injury that doesn't get better until it's given excessive rest so it can heal. Unfortunately any strain or slightest movement can cause severe, shooting pain through his arm. The good news is targeting the elbow for contact won't really create any additional discomfort. It's an internal injury strain that won't be impacted by external contact.

And I hope the Lebron=PP post wasn't in reference to Paul Pierce aka BP. I've never seen LeBron leave the court on a wheel chair to return by the time the 24 second shot clock ran out on the next possesion.

My youngest had a bone bruise on his knee and he was sure he ripped out his ACL... for a month he was in significant pain until an MRI revealed the bone bruise... He's one that never says anything about injuries so it must be painful.. only thing that fixes it is rest.. like a months worth of doing nothing

He went against doctors orders to shut it down and completed the basketball season.. but the delay cost him a 3 week recovery to almost a 5 week recovery...

If he bangs it again... he'll be in agony...

This will be an issue... until mid July ... a month after he's done...

At least this will clear the way for him to miss the Team USA stuff this summer, not like there is any chance he isn't going to be starting in London.

LeBron James to be named NBA Most Valuable Player on Sunday | cleveland.com

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- LeBron James of the Cavaliers will become the 10th player in NBA history to win back-to-back Most Valuable Player Awards when results of the nationwide voting are announced on Sunday, sources have told The Plain Dealer.

James is expected to have a press conference at The University of Akron and accept the Maurice Podoloff Trophy and the Kia car that comes with the honor Sunday.

Last season, when James won for the first time, he accepted at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron.

James played numerous high school games at Akron's Rhodes Arena, is a supporter of the Zips basketball program and head coach Keith Dambrot, and holds his annual Nike camp for the top high school prospects at the university's facilities.

NBA Commissioner David Stern is expected for formally give James the trophy before Monday's Game 2 against the Boston Celtics at The Q.

The MVP gets a Kia? :slappy:

Too bad it isn't at least a Hyundai Genesis. Lebron might actually go slumming in that. I'm sure the dudes at the bottom of his posse love this since he probably passes the Kia right down to them. On a side note the new Sorento is a sweet looking ride for someone in my tax bracket.

LeBron's ceremony all about loyalty

By Chris Broussard
ESPN The Magazine

AKRON, Ohio -- It will officially go down as a Most Valuable Player award ceremony. But in truth, it was a love-in, a community gathering, a chance for Akron to salute its favorite son and for its favorite son to big up his hometown.

Thousands of fans, scores of them wearing LeBron James jerseys, chanted "M-V-P! M-V-P!'' every chance they got. Hundreds of friends, family members and sponsors turned out to show their support for the world's greatest basketball player. And the superstar himself spoke of Akron as if it were some sort of utopia, declaring his commitment to the place nearly half a dozen times.

"I love Akron to death,'' James said. "Since I was a little kid, I always said I was going to find a way to put this city on the map. And I'm going to continue to do that.''

As James spoke after receiving his second straight MVP award Sunday at the University of Akron, you couldn't help but think to yourself: He ain't leaving.

LeBron-to-Bulls potential picking up steam - Chicago Breaking Sports

I am not sure why most people think it is certain if he leaves Cleveland it would be for NY. The Knicks and Nets are horrible, both seem to be at least a couple of years from becoming a championship team (with LeBron).
Chicago is closer, no doubt, but the NBA is a league where you can have two superstars and a group of role players win a championship. If the room for two max contracts that the Knicks have can result in the right two guys going to NYC, they could contend immediately.

I still think that he stays in Cleveland unless he sees no possibilty of a championship happening there.

NY and NJ are the top 2 places he will end up. Both teams can pay a ton of money, and will have enough left other to bring in another top all-star. What LeBron wants is a ring, money, and a big time supporting cast. If NY or NJ can bring in D-Wade or Bosh, then LeBron will be going there for sure. I just don't see LeBron staying in Cleveland unless they win it all this year, which isn't looking very good. Everyone has known he needs another big name guy to help him out, but the Cavs front office can't supply that. No idea why they went for Jamison over Stoudamire...very dumb move. The coaching staff has done amazing things with the players they are given though. If Cleveland can convince LeBron they are going to clear out and start from scratch with players, then he might stay....but after these past 2-3 years, they have not done anything to help him out.
