You're invested enough to keep along with it, though.Just being honest. Why should I pretend to have a favorite team in the NBA when the faces constantly change in each city. The players are the brand. Not the other way around like football and baseball, IMO. I watch it for entertainment, I have no emotional investment in it like I do with other sports.

Well he is a UM fan. I could see that causing a fear of emotional connection for other teams.I just don't see the point of watching sports or maintaining the involvement that you seem to have if there is zero emotional connection....?
Really? I mean I don't care a great deal for NBA but I still can enjoy the occasional portion of a game. I also understand the notion of liking a player as much as any team in the NBA. While my preference is for the Cavs to win, I'm a fan of LeBron and was happy to see him succeed wherever.I just don't see the point of watching sports or maintaining the involvement that you seem to have if there is zero emotional connection....?

The other teams keep winning with other players. That's the variable here. Then how do you root for any team ever?

Then how do you root for any team ever? It's not like the NBA is the only league with free agency. Heck, UM turns over the entire roster every 4-5 years.
Seems pretty arbitrary to me, but that's just my IMO.

You have certainly stayed true. As have a few others. Others have changed tunes.
I love the dude for how he plays the game. Always have. Fwiw, I doubt Cleveland would have won a great deal had he stayed. Somehow this managed to work out better than one could have hoped. And I certainly don't blame James for anything he did-it's his life.
