Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

If I'm a Miami fan, I'm asking myself if that was just a bad performance, or was that game 5 against Boston.

There is a huge difference, IMO.

Game 5 LeBron was making a point to Clevelanders and teammates. If he doesn't show up, game over. You win LeBron....Cleveland was certainly fucked when you decided to suck your own dick in the corner of the court.

Tonight LeBron went complete selfish mode again...but you have to think like a psychologist when I say "selfish". How does a guy who scored 8 points and refused to shoot go "selfish"?

Dude was proving a point to Miami, and passive aggressively. He's the most passive aggressive superstar I have ever seen truthfully. Apparently all of the talk got to him about being Robin and second fiddle. Tonight he made a point of sucking, and I think his message was/is, if Miami wants to win, THEY NEED HIM.

I highly doubt we see a terrible performance in game 5. He's going to come out looking for numero uno. He's going to prove to the world Miami needs LBJ.

a la kobe vs Phoenix in the playoffs several years ago.

i have no problem after our debate on monday admitting that lebron played very poorly last night. i still stand behind my view of his game 3 performance given the way the game around him was being played. but, lebron and coach spo got to realize the adjustments made by dallas yesterday and react to it ingame. they take kidd of wade and put him on lebron. they had stevenson (who was outstanding and needs to play a lot more) pick up lebron up high and stayed tight preventing him from exploding to the hole or casually surveying the defense. lebron has got read the changes and react. if a 6'4 or 6'2 guard is on you, set up in the post and back his ass down. if you are looking for your shot then don't hold the ball for 7 seconds with your head in the defender's belly, get the ball and attack immediately.

i thought lebron's role in game 3 was correct to look for wade and setup his teammates - be a facilitator. but, after the adjustments made by dallas, he had the mismatch and he was unwilling or unable to take advantage of it. bad basketball. he also had little impact on the boards or on defense making things worse.

Spot on analysis, bill.

i watched pretty much every cavs game while lebron was in cleveland and for whatever reason, there were maybe 2-3 games a year where he looked like he wasnt even aware he was in a NBA game...almost like he was sleepwalking...this is different from just having a bad game, because he had a few of those too...i watched most of last nights game and in the 4th quarter this was the sleepwalking lebron...especially when he was just standing there in the corner for plays and especially when dirk drove to the rim for the game winning shot...lebron stood there when it was evident dirk was not passing to jason terry...when lebron was in cleveland there wasnt many times where i had to yell at the TV "What the FUCK is he doing?", but during these sleepwalking times is when i said it the most because i was just fucking baffled...he basically gives up and doesnt even try...maybe hes hungover from shots of patron or a LeBomb James shot...who knows...im just glad he did it AGAIN on the biggest stage in the NBA

In fairness, a couple of them called him on his last turd...

Yes, I agree, and I didn't mention anyone by name because it isn't directed specifically, just more at the people who all thought that analysis of his crapastic play was somehow a result of irrational hatred.

Honestly, I, myself, owe Lebron James a sincere apology. For a year now, I was absolutely convinced that he quit on the Cavaliers knowing that it be easier for him to leave at the end of the season. I 've called him everything under the sun since "the decision" aired, and I'm not even a Cavs fan.

As it turns, LeBron apparently is just a choke artist who can't take the pressure of the NBA finals. He's not quitting. He's not throwing the game or point shaving. He's just not as good as we all thought he was.

So, LeBron, I sincerely apologize for all of the bad things I've said about you for the last several months. I clearly mistook your lack of intestinal fortitude for abject apathy. You have now shown us you can choke away games in any city, not just Cleveland.
