Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

The players do not care at all about the fans, so long as they continue to line their pocket books. We're just cash machines to them. They care more about what other players think of them than the fans from the city they play in.

Its just a fact of sports now (not just the NBA) and we can either stop giving them our money or get over it. 'Cause it ain't changing anytime soon.

admittedly, I was expecting something crazy to happen last night. I'm glad to hear or i guess not hear about anything happening.

I am indifferent to the NBA, as far as I'm concerned I'd rather watch underwater basket weaving than this [censored]. I hope there is a lock out next year, I hope Stern and the owners realize what the league has become and take steps to correct it. I grew up with Jordan and the Bulls, I want to see guys hating each other and willing to do anything to win....

As someone said on SI.com LeBenedict Arnold didn't do any wrong in the eyes of the law.... but he sinned against competition, taking the easy road, and thats a sin a lot of people inlcude me can't forgive.

This is absurd. How does this get a GPA?

Did someone say "he had to be tackled" to be a good showing by the fans?

Disappointed on multiple levels. The crowd got quiet early and truthfully, they weren't nearly loud enough to begin with. It was disappointing.
Yeah, I gave him a GPA because he captured a great thought perfectly. The whole fucking nation expected Cleveland to act like dumbasses and are disappointed that they didn't. One asshat on Scout even said a few weeks ago that "Dec 2nd couldn't come fast enough" like some dipshit 5 year old on Christmas Eve. Sorry to disappoint. If you would like to fucking debate this further, feel free to PM me.

I should have known nothing was going to happen and mentioned it before. But reading the tweets from the media last night, it re-inforced why nothing was going to happen.

The lower bowl are mainly season ticket holders. If they did anything they probably would have lost their season tickets. But mostly they aren't crazy. So if 1-2 people from that area got out of line, security can sniff it out quick and stop it before anything happens.

The real craziness was in the upper bowl. The cheap seats, the one time purchases, the people that get drunk and WOULD do something. There were fights up there and people escorted out. Read alot of tweets about stupid people wearing LeBron Heat jerseys getting abused severly (wouldn't be surprised we'll hear some stories of those people getting beat up)

BUT, the real security was just keeping those people from getting into the lower bowl. With a plastic cup policy last night it was impossible to throw anything onto the court because they were kept too far away.

...And 38 Points... and a Win...

Against a horrible team. This is really not a big deal that he played well against a team he left at the last minute putting them in a position where they could not pick up any other FA's. Further more I wouldnt expect him to be intimidated by a team he used to clown with. Lebron always rises to the occasion to beat the have nothings.....but he is always getting intimidated when he plays against established guys in the league.

He had 38 points against the Cavs.....but grabs his elbow, bumps his coach, complains about playing to many minutes when he plays against other grown men on good teams. Lmao at you thinking this proved somthing....

Think the Cavs lost a few fans last night.

The players are all pieces of ****.

Lebron embarassed the organization and entire city for his own ego.

And our coach has to ******* TELL our players to stop interacting with him so much.

None of them are worth a ****. He is the villian. He is the bad guy.

And our players treat him like he never left. Old school NBA is dead, the only thing players care about anymore is money and the relationships they have with other players.

most of the bandwagoners already left months ago...and any hanger-oners probably wont watch anymore games...but the true fans will be around talking about who we can trade off the team for draft picks...i am one of them

You are telling me you are fine with our players on the bench joking with Lebron while they are losing by 30?

Last night they had a chance to make a statement. Yes, they arent nearly as talented as Miami on paper, but they also could have made a statement by standing up for the city that Lebron embarassed on national television. It would not have taken a win, but at least physical play.

Instead our coach had to tell our players to stop joking around with him so much. His ass did not even come close to hitting the ground ONCE, of course other than the obvious flop where the defender was called for a foul and he got up and sank a 3 seconds later.

Most of the players showed they care about Lebron more then they care about the city.

Pride is non-existant.

That is one thing about the NBA. The moves a team makes (trades, free agents & the draft) are more exciting than most of the games.

The only good that can come of that 'game' (if you can call the whole team laying down with their legs spread a game) is it showed the owner that he must tear the team down to rebuild versus trying to rebuild on the fly.

no but what do you want me to do about it? i wasnt at the game and im not about to start writing letters to dan gilbert...yah i was pissed when i saw them talking with james but its the fucking NBA...there are no rivalries or beefs no matter what ESPN hypes up...

i agree with all this and i felt the same way...i wish someone would of done something to lebron to either put him on his ass or at least send some sort of statement that we werent laying down...especially after he hit that shot in the corner and then turned to the bench and stared everyone down the whole time...but it shows 2 things...
1) like i said earlier there are no rivalries or beefs in the NBA...boston vs lakers may be a rivalry because of the good ol days but half those guys hang out with eachother during the offseason...i bet even ben wallace and ron artest are friendly...everyone is buddy buddy and are way too happy about making a gazillion dollars then to take anything seriously on the court for the city they are playing for...who cares if cleveland is mad at lebron, im getting paid bitch
2) the way the cavs played and then reacted to lebron was like how a bully comes back to you after beating up someone else for months just to take your lunch money again and show you your his bitch...thats what lebron did....he ran the team for 7 years and everyone else followed...last night he was back in town running the show and the cavs watched...it goes to show how if lebron actually cared for cleveland how he cares for fame and acceptance and had some passion for the city of cleveland, then we WOULD of won a championship if 70% of that passion rubbed off on the other players...it was obvious last night that none of the players cared about how cleveland fans felt....they played like shit and couldnt care less...you are right, byron scott and charles barkely should not have to tell the cleveland players to stop acting nice to lebron....but this is again what lebron would do in the playoffs as well to other teams...no heart and he rarely stuck up for his teamates if it came to it...last time i can remember him coming to players defenses and actually meaning it was the detroit series in 07...and top all this off with the fact that the cavs are a very very bad team...but there is no heart on the current team...it was ripped out when lebron left and now everyone is just waiting for their ticket out

I just wanted to pull this out because it summed up what happened perfectly.

This ends in one of four ways.

1. He doesn't play. Has a "Tweak" somewhere and its the Bosh/Wade show.

2. He plays but doesn't play well. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 10-15 points.

3. He plays and EXPLODES. Scores 40+ points and flicks off the crowd while grabbing his crotch at the end of the game.

4. The crowd is worked up into such a lather then throw [censored] on the floor and the game is stopped MULTIPLE times. It looks like a WCW match (circa 1998). Tennis Balls, beer bottles, wet toilet paper, old jersey, posters, garbage...anything hilarious.

Looks like it was #3. He didn't get 40 points or grab his nuts. But the Heat won easily and he was grab-assing with former Cavs teammates.
