Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Between scoring 20-24 ppg and watching D-wade become the scorer, and LeBron never sniffing a MVP again, you have to wonder if his pride will start showing through.

16 points a night isn't going to satisfy him.

And to top it off reports are now surfacing of LeBron's being entourage told "no."

http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi...o_members_of_lebrons_entourage_fly_with_team/

His personal trainer and former "liason" with the Cavs Randy Mims were not hired by the Heat and aren't allowed on the team flight. Both were employed by the Cavs last year. I know Gilbert was an enabler, but I wonder how LeBron likes the feeling of being told no. Maybe Cleveland wasn't so bad afterall?

Keep in mind, it was reported on RealGM last week that LeBron asked the Heat if he could stay in N.O. an extra night after a pre-season game to hang with Chris Paul. The Heat told him he couldn't fly back in the morning and was expected to make the team charter, which he did. It's kind of nice seeing the Heat put their foot down, but you just have to wonder how long before LeBron starts his walking out on practices and undermining the team like he did in Cleveland.

If he isn't happy I wouldn't be surprised to see him opt out after 3 years. With no ring.

this whole thing has a distinct possibility of blowing up in his face. they don't win it all this year. there is a lockout next year, and a hard cap instituted. now, they can't use bird's rights and the mle to coerce guys to take a pay cut to play with them, and are stuck with no draft picks and a shitty supporting cast.

add to it, that none of the butt buddies of south beach have played a full nba season in years, especially wade. now they have to carry the load, including major minutes.

The whole thing doesn't seem very well thought-out, does it?

I couldn't care less about the NBA or the Cavs, but I've now seen LeBron's new commercial twice and I have to say...What a fucking self-absorbed douchebag. If this is how Nike is trying to rehab his image so they can sell shoes, I think it's borderline offensive speaking as a sports fan...The line about "should I remind you how much fun we had", as the giant LeBron banner drops off that building in Cleveland is a direct shot at everyday fans of the sport. "How much fun we had"?A bunch of meaningless regular season games and epic failures in the post season=fun? You never won a thing douchebag. GTFO. How can Nike and LeBron's people possibly think anything good can come from taking shots at the fans of the sport that he plays?

He's being led around by a bunch of illiterate street-punks...they have no clue what's good for him. As for Nike, well, what can they do. They had to sit and watch this guy essentially destroy his image in front of millions of viewers with seven little words. His best bet at this point is to embrace his role as the "bad guy", but he's too fragile to exist in that light. The only people on the planet (by-and-large) that like him now are the bandwagon Heat fans. He gets booed ruthlessly every time he so much as touches the ball. If things don't go absolutely swimmingly, they'll stop paying attention and he'll totally fall apart. It could be one of the most compelling stories in sports history. The Ohio kid builds the lowly Cleveland franchise to the precipice of championship glory. He's one of the most adored and worshipped athletes on the entire planet. Then he goes on national television and shows his ass to an audience of millions. He goes to Miami (the ultimate bandwagon sports town) and totally self destructs. That would be fucking beautiful.

Yes. As much as I hate Lebron now for how the whole ordeal went down, the last 5 years will probably go down as the golden years of Cavs basketball for the forseeable future. Even with all of the disappointing finishes, it was a sh*t ton of fun to be a Cavs fan. That doesn't change the fact though that Lebron has no business telling us that.

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and they were debating if Carmelo Anthony was an elite player. They seemed to agree that he could not lead a team with a group of decent players and no other star player to a title and thus was not elite. Since Leron was basically in that position and failed/quit, does that mean he is not an elite player?

Not really. Lebron at least took a rag tag group to the Finals once and to the brink of the Finals a few more times. Denver, IIRC, has only gotten to the Western Conference finals once in Melo's time there.

Championships aren't the only metric for being elite, or else Malone, Barkley, Stockton, etc etc weren't elite players either. And we all know that's not true.

I have to admit that the overanalyzation of 2 games out of 82 is quite hilarious. Especially since Wade was out the entire preseason and Miller is out. I guess you guys need to get your shots in now because this team will be rolling come December.

If the Heat pull out the W tonight, I look forward to our resident Cavs fans diminishing the victory against a quality team.
