Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Exactly. I don't give a shit if he wears a Yankees hat, because when he puts on a basketball jersey, it says "Cavs" on it, and he wins us a lot of fucking games wearing it. If he showed up in a Knicks jersey, that's a different story.

Perfect.

Tom Brady has gotten a lot of shit up here for being seen wearing a Yankees cap. I think it's funny. I don't care who they root for -- they have an obligation to their team and their team only, IMO.

At least Tom Brady has the excuse that he wasn't originally from Boston. Now imagine if Tom Brady grew up near Boston and he was a Yankee fan.

THAT is the difference in this.

Does it matter to me? Not really. I find it funny that he is a HUGE frontrunner (Cowboys, Yankees, and Bulls fan) Heck, I am surprised he is an Ohio State fan.

What will be even more hilarious is after the Indians beat the Yankees, Lebron will have an Indians hat and be sitting in the front row for the first home game against the Red Sox.

If Craig Krenzel had been drafted by the Lions as a backup, would it be wrong for him to wear a buckeye hat in Michigan stadium? He grew up in a detroit suburb, and relatively close to AA.

He could always wear two hats sewn together laura-style, or just sell out his loyalty. :tibor:

I saw him last week with an SC hat on.
How many college hats do you think he owns? How about pros? Teddy used to sport a Reds hat one day, and a Yankees one the next.

I'm not. Ohio State isn't sliced bread - it's just another bandwagon for frontrunners like Lebron.

I don't think anyone from Cleveland should be even remotely upset about this. But everyone should have some fun with it at Lebron's expense.

On the other hand, how would you feel about a former Buckeye showing love to Michigan just because he plays in Detroit? Ala Braylon Edwards?

Uh, no comparison.

Relax Francis, it was just a goof.

From TheBigLead

I could care less about LeBron wearing a Yankees hat. All I know is when he puts on a basketball jersey, it says ?Cavs? on it, and he wins us fucking basketball games. If he showed up wearing a Knicks jersey, I might be upset.

I DO give a shit what hat he has on...

We expect everyone and everything in Cleveland, et al .. to be 100% Cavs when the Cavs are in the playoffs...

and same for Indians...

If he wants to 'cheer' for the Yankees.. stay home... watch it on TV...
but more than anything... do NOT wear anything like a damn Yankee hat.. in public.. and most importantly, not to Jacobs field...

Poor taste.. shitty judgment...

CLEVELAND is his town... he owns it... they adore him... and with that comes a commitment... BOTH WAYS

I don't really give a shit, well, because I don't really give a shit about baseball, or Cleveland sports in general. But you have to ask "WTF?" How is it so hard to understand that wearing a Yankees hat at a game that absolutely has the same people that will be cheering for him in a month, is pretty fucking dumb on any number of levels? How hard is it to understand that pissing off the same people who will be buying your stuff is a pretty dumb PR move? The fact is that it embarrasses the same fans and city that he wants and needs to go watch him play. This isn't that difficult...I mean for Christ's sake, even Braylon Edwards is smart enough to understand it...That said, bwhahahahahahaha!!
