Another question. I'm from Columbus and have no dog in any Cleveland-Cincinnati rivalry. In fact, I like both cities a lot. But is it a coincidence that the majority of those ripping Cavs fans and supporting LBJ seem to be from SW Ohio?

Don't generalize us! Die hard Reds and Bengals fan here, but I love the Cavs and I've been one of the more critical posters. But I will tell you there is a disproportionate number of NBA fans for other teams in this region because of a couple of things--Cleveland was Cleveland for so long and not only far away but struggled a lot recently, the Pacers had some decent years, Chicago is not that far away, and because we have nobody else around here you'll find droves of Boston and LA fans. I think it has less to do with a Cleveland-Cincinnati rivalry than it does an anti-Cavaliers sentiment. I'm sure people in the region have been pretty annoyed by the sudden excitement of Cavaliers fans in the state over the past 7 years.

You don't find it funny that fans want to give money to a Billionaire?

Not really, they don't care how much money he has they are just showing support for his actions and disagreement with David Stern.

It doesn't really matter, Gilbert flipped it and asked for it all to go to their charity.

I would have been critical if he had accepted such assistance...

[sarcasm] He is just offering to give the money to Charity to try and save face for the bull[censored] dickhead move of crying about Lebron [/sarcasm]

People give money to billionaires all the time. How do you think they became billionaires in the first place?

Gilbert has graciously declined the money and requested that any fan with the impluse instead donate the money to his favorite charity.

I gotta give you credit though - you're not quitting on this thread the way LeBron quit on Cleveland. Gotta admire that I guess.

Bryant Gumbel weighs in on LeBron

For anyone who cares, here is a transcript of Bryant Gumbel?s close tonight to Real Sports on HBO, as provided by the network.

?Finally tonight, a few words about championship rings. Just when did they become the all-important barometer of who does or doesn?t count in sports? When did they supersede personal excellence or exemplary character as a standard of greatness?

cont'd...

I quit. You Win. Lebron is a jerk and I will hate him forever.

In all honesty, I am a Bengals fan that has had many bad experiences with Browns fans and since 90% of Browns fans are Cavs fans, anything that happens to piss of a Browns fan is ok with me. I always felt kind of dirty rooting for the Cavs...now I don't have to.
