LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

Curtis Grant and Ryan Shazier are going to be studs for us. Grant already looks like a linebacker, and Shazier already shows a lot of promise. I'm excited, I just hope they stay focused and work hard.. the working hard part doesn't sound like it will be any issue at all.

Uh....ok? Do you have any opinions on what it should be? My man is deserving of a nickkname. He was in on every play it seemed.

I've got nothing. I like his name as it is, and I think his play is exemplary. Calling him, "El Toro" or any other sort of thing doesn't really add nor diminish him for me.

He's the best linebacker on this team as a true freshman.

No doubt. It will be fun to watch him progress.

Sweat and Klein are a bit slow and Sabino has physical skills but has too many mental lapses for a Junior. However, I may be too critical... we get spoiled with the players we've seen from AJ to JL over the past decade.

Guys like Roby, Bryant, and Shazier are BIG hitters. All 3 have made some rookie mistakes but I love the way they play and I can't wait to see them progress over the next few years.

Shazier might be the fastest player on that defense. He looks like he's running downhill at all times.

I don't know if it will pan out this way next season, but imagine the following as the LB core:

SAM: C. Grant
MIKE: E. Sabino
WILL: R. Shazier

Will be one of the most physically gifted LB cores we've had here, and that's saying alot.
