Sounds like a good kid.

This. I'm really happy with this class. Not just from a talent and needs-filled perspective, but from what I've seen from these kids they appear to be level headed, hard working, and have good attitudes. I think we did a stand-up job this year.

Shazier Finally Where He Wants To Be
By Tony Gerdeman

Leaving the plush climate of Florida for the cold and gray Midwest in the middle of the winter would seem counter-intuitive, but for Ryan Shazier, he was simply doing what felt right for him.

One of the nation's top prep players, the 6'2? 210-pound four-star linebacker from Plantation, Florida didn't always know he wanted to be a Buckeye, and when he finally figured it out he never realized so many people would treat it as bad news.

Shazier, who ran a 4.44 forty-yard dash at an ESPN combine last February, originally committed to the Florida Gators in June of last year following a visit to the school. As he told the Orlando Sentinel the day after his pledge, the commitment came as a bit of a surprise.

?I really didn't know I would be committing, but everything up there was just perfect," he said. ?Me and my mom and dad and little brother all went to visit the school and we just felt it would be the best decision for me and my family and for the academics, as well as athletics.?

I'm actually rather happy that Ryan has his brother "Ejuan Shazier" joining him in the linebacking corp.

This person was either not sober while writing or had a detonating bomb strapped to his chest (and was under pressure).

The Signing Day coup of Curtis Grant, the nation?s top outside linebacker, was the icing on the cake for a class that came up with NFL talents in Michael Bennettat defensive tackle and Steve Miller on the outside. Ejuan Shazier will be the team?s next great inside linebacker, while brother Ryan Shazier will be a star on the outside.

What a joke. No way Ejuan doesn't bulk up and move to the DL.

You really have to stretch the pronounciation of Ejuan's last name to make that one work. I think Curtis Grant and Doran Grant would make more sense.

Curtis called Doran his 'cousin' when talking about picking tOSU, so I could understand people believing that was true - I'm assuming he was joking.

I was impressed with Shazier's speed yesterday, I honestly can't remember OSU ever having a LB with this much speed. He just missed out on a couple sacks when he came flying in on blitz's. His pursuit on plays down the field was unreal, i'm excited to see him and Grant on the field in the future. He loooks like a fast safety, like to see him add about 10-15 pounds to his frame though.

Yes, on that sack he showed it and I'm happy for him cause I had my questions about him last year.

It's gonna be hard to distribute playing time between the LB's (Grant hasn't even arrived yet). It's a good problem to have but i just wish our OLine had the depth of our LB and RB positions. I hope Hagan is able to stay healthy. I'd love to see the defense with moeller out there as well. I'd like to see them potentially use Hagan or Shazier in the star position some against spread teams to get them on the field.
