LB Ryan Shazier (All B1G, All-American, 2017 Pro Bowl)

It's gonna be hard to distribute playing time between the LB's (Grant hasn't even arrived yet). It's a good problem to have but i just wish our OLine had the depth of our LB and RB positions. I hope Hagan is able to stay healthy. I'd love to see the defense with moeller out there as well. I'd like to see them potentially use Hagan or Shazier in the star position some against spread teams to get them on the field.
Same thoughts. A healthy Moeller makes our defense even better. I was thinking about that with us having 3 speedsters playing LB could one of them back up Moeller and be ready for 2012

I think Shazier makes the transition like Thad Gibson did....eventually. He also has speed to burn....what a great get from Florida. Go Bucks

He could be better than Thad.

Honestly, Thad should have stayed for his senior season. He could have had the impact we were all expecting.

Right now he's like a big safety playing OLB. For him to grow into a DE he'd probably have to gain around 40-50 pounds with him being listed at 210. I think he stays put at LB gaining around 15-20 more lbs and still flying around. Unless we start wiffing on all the D-line talent in ohio, I dont see that move happening. Would love to see Grant and Shazier line up side by side for 3 years.

I see Viper eventually....a la Thad Gibson....same size coming out of high school....similar frames. I think he is gonna be a star here and like you would love to see him stay at 220 and play the same spot that Tyler Moeller plays so well. Go Bucks

If there is one position that we, as Buckeye fans, don't have to worry about, it's the LBs. We have been so spoiled in JT's tenure with some amazing talent and productivity not just at LB, but with the entire defense. Shazier and Grant will most definitely keep this tradition alive.

agreed. not much to worry about in general on the defensive side of things in general IMO. I'm more worried about offense.

Chad Hagen should not be overlooked as a possible stud of the future. His measurables are off the charts and looked good in the spring. Jordan Whiting although playing a different position looked darn good this spring...obviously the light has went on for Jordan.

He looked totally lost out there, zero instincts. I wouldn't waste time on him when you have other guys more talented and ready to go!
