LB Ross Homan (official thread)

good get! I scrolled back some of the previous pages to see what other offers he had, I only found "letters" he received...can anyone comment on formal offers?

Kind of a moot point now. If you're trying to gauge how good he is by the amount of offers he has, I would assure you that we've got a good one is this kid.

If we continue to get so many early commitments it will free the coaching staff to focus hard on fewer kids and Ohio's sophomore class. Kudos to the coaching staff for working hard the last couple of years on Wells and Homan.

I have always argued that the offer list is a better measure of a kids ranking than the stars he gets from the gurus. But -

Homan is known to be a rabid Buckeye fan. Schools don't want to go on record as getting a lot of "No's" to their official offers. They talk to these kids. They know when the door isn't open. So my argument above only applies on a sliding scale that maps to how open a kid is. Homan was not.

alright, lets say that we got both Chris Wells and Ross Homan playing in Buckeye jerseys in a couple of years. Obviously, Wells, is a very good running back. But Homan is listed as a back also, and i know he will probably play linebacker mostly, but could we put him at a fullback spot? perhaps blocking for Wells and maybe taking a few handoffs as well? is he big enough?

Let me think this through -

Carpenter is graduating.

Hawk is graduating.

Schlegel is graduating.

D'Andrea may be graduating.

We just got a commit from what may be the #1 RB prosepct in the country.

What was the question again?

Ross is a an average high school RB, he's a WLB all the way at the next level.

Otis4Heisman -- you realize what that smile was about in the PM now?

Great get for the Bucks, Ross is a quality football player and more importantly a quality kid.

pretty nice vision of 2007:
Marcus Freeman (All-American) in the middle with the Animal's kid backing him up

Freddie Lenix at a speedy 220 on one side

Homan on the other and making everyone think it's the second coming of AJ...

wow...
