Not sure what this means^^^^^...but without a visit (even being kicked around as to when) makes me a bit nervous. It's still a long ways away till Feb 2013, but he was so gun ho and now seems to have backed off. Everyone keeps saying he's got OSU at the top still but no visit...yet.

Hoping Urban's relationship with him prevails but they have to be our biggest threat at this point.
Triple Option: OU makes play for Mitchell
August, 14, 2012
By Bob Przybylo | ESPN.com
Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.
1. Better late than never, right? That?s the sentiment for OU fans regarding the Sooners' pursuit of Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian?s ESPN 150 linebacker Mike Mitchell. The four-star prospect visited campus last weekend. OU is in the mix but there are still other very viable contenders out there such as Ohio State, TCU and Florida State. OU entering the game late isn?t the ideal situation, but Norman being so close to Plano should help as things move forward. Mitchell dominated at every camp he went to during the summer.
Tom in Miami asks: I know things went well for Mike Mitchell on his visit. How close are we to getting him at this point?

Bob Przybylo: No doubt it was a good weekend for OU and four-star linebacker Mike Mitchell (Plano, Texas/Prestonwood Christian). But I wouldn?t say the Sooners are close to getting his verbal at this point. It?s all about context. What last weekend did was put OU in the conversation, which is where it wasn?t at this point two weeks ago. Just because Tim Kish made a good impression on Mitchell doesn?t mean the same hasn?t occurred at other schools.
What is working in OU?s favor is obviously the distance. With two of Mitchell?s favorites being Ohio State and Florida State, those aren?t exactly bus rides to get to from Plano.
Mitchell is good friends with teammate and Florida State commit Christian Morgan. Though Morgan has pledged to the Seminoles, he has always had good things to say about OU and its coaching staff. Now that Mitchell has seen it himself up close, that should help OU down the road.
