Marcus taking a lot of heat for doing the basic duties of his job.
Your wife doesn't want to hear about how hot your college GF was.
I assume he meant to add some additional thoughts about an opportunity no one else can offer to compete for championships while getting an elite education (or not competing in a conference)… or something along those lines, but the second part obviously didn’t make it out. The idea is nonsensical but very likely incomplete and with the added context would be less stupid and more obnoxiously arrogant.I thought some of his first comments were overblown re: Columbus/OSU.
This one was just plumb stupid.
Obnoxiously arrogant would fit the audience, so I don’t doubt that’s what he’s going for.I assume he meant to add some additional thoughts about an opportunity no one else can offer to compete for championships while getting an elite education (or not competing in a conference)… or something along those lines, but the second part obviously didn’t make it out. If we really want to be petty I think it’s a pretty big stretch to call him a Buckeye “great.” Two-time second team all-conference makes you a Buckeye solid starter, in my opinion.Obnoxiously arrogant would fit the audience, so I don’t doubt that’s what he’s going for.
Whatever. I don’t begrudge him but won’t root for him. Is what it is at this point. Buckeye great turned enemy - at least temporarily.
Realized that was generous after I re-read. “Good Buckeye player turned enemy coach” is more fair. I did like his game at LB.If we really want to be petty I think it’s a pretty big stretch to call him a Buckeye “great.” Two-time second team all-conference makes you a Buckeye solid starter, in my opinion.
What am I missing here? He clearly didn't say "come to ND if you want to win National championships". That was the only part that made it to the quote in the tweet but the video embedded with his actual comments clearly said three things as the reason to come to ND:
1) win national championship
2) get developed for the NFL
3) be a part of a network that will help your life after football
The second one is as debatable as the first one (and the third one might be too), but why is everyone on here acting like he flat out said come to ND to win national championships?
