LB Marcus Freeman (HC Notre Dame, Constant Backtracker)

Laurinaitis said today on the radio that the comment was regarding him passing an opportunity to join ND's coaching staff once before.

Around 7 minutes in.

"I viewed it as he's had two opportunities to go to Notre Dame. The first time he didn't, and last year he was very thankful he didn't make a mistake by going to LSU."

That's the direct quote, make of it what you will.
That’s how I took it.

Bottom line is it’s something he didn’t need to say. Coaching is a very fickle business. People get hired and fired and help each other out a lot over decades, and burning bridges isn’t a great move early in your career.

If shitting on OSU wasn’t the intent, as you say, I’ll use the old adage that perception is reality, and it was perceived by most as saying it was a mistake playing for OSU instead of notre dame.

Just not a smart move, and glad he’s not our coach. Better to have coaches that think about what they say before saying it, let alone write and publish it. It’s called coaches speak, and there is a reason the best head coaches practice it.

He said what he said, and it was pretty damned clear what he said. No walking it back through friendly surrogates. I hope Day cuffs him to the toilet and plunger rapes him. #Hang100

Honestly, can we move him to either the Fake Buckeye thread or, if that's too harsh, at least to the general college football thread. Because, if he considers choosing Ohio State over Notre Dame to be such a monumental mistake that he feels the need to publicly fall on his sword for it before the domers, fuck him. He doesn't belong in this thread.

Wishing him the best directiy impacts the Bucks and I'm not cool with that. I hope he loses every game
Yeah, I’m not wishing personal harm to him - I hope he and his family remain financially stable, healthy and happy.

But I’m not wishing him the best professionally at all. Bridge too far now that he’s at ND.
