LB Marcus Freeman (HC Notre Dame, Constant Backtracker)

I hope he has limited success at ND. Something like 9-3 most years, so it’s not great but not a failure. Because he’s at ND and I can’t hope for them to have a lot of success, even with a Buckeye alum as head coach. Now if he had gone to TTUN I’d be hoping for him to go 0-12 every year.

But I’m also hoping he’ll regret that last sentence in his statement after he visits the Horseshoe in September, because of the final score.

What am I missing?

I guess I don’t understand the vitriol.
Check out the part about making the same mistake at the end of his statement. Certainly appears that he’s saying his college choice was a mistake. He’s pandering to the ND crowd, but that doesn’t sit well.

I’m not ready to trash him, but I’d rather he didn’t say something like that, when tOSU, and tOSU connections, started him on a football career that will now be garnering him millions.

Laurinaitis said today on the radio that the comment was regarding him passing an opportunity to join ND's coaching staff once before.

Around 7 minutes in.

"I viewed it as he's had two opportunities to go to Notre Dame. The first time he didn't, and last year he was very thankful he didn't make a mistake by going to LSU."

That's the direct quote, make of it what you will.

I can’t believe he earnestly thinks his college choice and time were a mistake in Columbus. Every article I see during his time and after talks positively about his time in Columbus, coming back for a senior season and the bond with his teammates. Even page 30 on this thread has quotes of him being a Buckeye fan when he’s not playing them.

Time and allegiances have definitely changed but I think the comment was just saying he couldn’t pass up Notre Dame. Whatever. He’s allowed to pander - heck he’s getting paid handsomely to pander. Have to accept he’s a Buckeye but still an enemy.

(First time huh)

Just being a smartass lol

I don't think everyone is, though.

I didn't interpret it as an insult to Ohio State because it goes against everything the guy has said and done up to this point in his career, and his career and personal life would be vastly different without Ohio State.

And he's coaching Notre Dame now, so he can say whatever the fuck he wants, I'm never going to root for the golden domers anyways. lol
