Wasn't Katznmoyer about 6'4-5" when he roamed the field as a middle linebacker? Seem to recollect he did pretty well in that position. 'Course Powers plays OB, with the potential to put his hand on the ground, and/or cover TEs off the line. Glad to see tOSU is reversing a trend that occured after Tress, which is to save the in-state 'gimmes' after national targets were first contacted. Guess I'm a homer, and believe that if an Ahia kid is talented enough, then get 'em early. Maybe Ahia is just in a bubble of great players (?) now, but am personally glad that Coach Day is reversing the Urban Meyer trend. Not saying an out-of-state player cannot become a fervent Buckeye, but there's something about hanging the flag outside the porch on gameday....Go Bucks!

Freaking BOOOOOOMMMM! Powers is seriously one of the better Ohio LB prospects I've seen in a bit and frankly Hicks is right there. So awesome to lock both up so early. Special Powers indeed, welcome aboard Gabe! Staff is locking down the to Ohio talent right away and I love it.

Al Washington knew more than a year ago the high talent level of Marysville (Ohio) High School’s Gabe Powers.

That's why the Ohio State linebackers coach offered Powers in November of Powers' sophomore year, as he became the first outside linebacker and third overall linebacker the Buckeyes offered in the class. Washington long emphasized how badly he wanted the young defensive standout in Ohio State's class.

Tonight, Washington got his wish. Powers, a four-star prospect ranked as the No. 45 overall player, the No. 2 outside linebacker and No. 1 Ohioan in the class of 2022, has committed to Ohio State
