LB Freddie Lenix (Cincinnati signee; transfer to Notre Dame College)

How many NFL caliber LBs are going to keep him on the bench? MDA probably would have been drafted had he played for UC and done well against his weaker opponents and wowed the scouts with his measurables...

There are usually more sides to an argument than one with valid points...

But the other side to your point is the idea that D'Andrea won't get drafted as a bcak-up at Ohio State anyway...

Anyway, I hope Freddie stays... but I'll certainly understand if he doesn't...

If you can play ball, the NFL will find you. Look at how many players from non-BCS schools get drafted every year - not to mention I-AA guys as well. If you can play, but are stuck behind good players in college, the NFL will find you there as well. Freddie just needs to do whatever he thinks is right for himself and his family. I hope that that's in Columbus.

surprising if true (which I don't doubt) as recently as a few weeks ago i read an interview where Freddie said, he was disappointed about grayshirting but he never really considered opting to go anywhere else besides OSU because that is where he really wanted to play....

...but things change, he does have a family to think about.

Plus maybe there was an issue of some sort with tri-c, or with credits transfering or something?

Anyone who thinks Lenix has the same chance of reaching the NFL playing for Cincy as playing for Ohio State needs to check themselves in for rehab.
How many RBs, before Shelton, has Louisville sent to the NFL(cricket chirp). Probably thousand of examples of kids coming from schools that never before had a kid drafted in that position. No doubt, his chances would improve slightly by being a Buckeye but that's only because he'd get more exposure. He'll still have to prove himself at the workout camps. If he doesn't have the talent, doesn't matter where he goes to school.

Wow...its a good thing that Jerry Rice played at a big school...:roll2:

There are 11 former Bearcats in the NFL...not a lot, but more then you would have people believe with ignorant, uninformed, unresearched posts.

Trent Cole LB -Eagles
Troy Evans LB - Texans
Antwan Peek LB -Texans
Zach Norton DB -Ravens
Derick Ranson NT -Jags
Jason Fabini T -Jets
Ray Jackson RB -Titans
Robert Tate CB -Cardinals
Antonio Chatman WR -Packers
Blue Adams DB -Bucs
Artrell Hawkins DB -Panthers

Yeah, and we all know how high Rice was drafted...his being a near-unknown at I-AA Mississippi Valley State didn't have a negative effect on his draft position. :roll1: Talk about ignorant, uninformed, unresearched posts.

Although Cincinnati may have 11 players in the NFL, obviously they would've been drafted higher had they played at Ohio State instead, with the improved strength and conditioning, coaching, quality of opponents, and visibility.

0-for-2...quit while you're behind.

Plenty of players from small schools ended up high in the NFL draft. I'm sure Alex Smith would've gone higher had he spurned Utah for a BCS school. Ditto for Pacman Jones at WVU (6th), or even DeMarcus Ware at Troy (11th). The bottom line is, if you're a great player you'll be found no matter where you play. I'm sure Ware would've gone higher than 11th had he gone to Alabama :roll2:
