Etienne enjoyed his visit to USC but ends up praising tOSU and Jim Tressel in the article. He is also considering North Carolina, Georgia Tech, LSU and Tennessee but only has an offical planned to Columbus in November.

Even though I consider Etienne a long shot due to distance that is an very encouraging report.:)

I watched the USC/Idaho game and USC did not look good on offense. I was shcoked how well Idaho did on offense. I can see why he was not wowed and how he might of actually been disappointed. USC had starters in the majority of the second half. I think USC's 2007 national championship has been prematurally awarded by the media.

1. He's a linebacker. I doubt a mediocre offensive showing would matter to him.
2. It's the first game of the season in which they'll most likely go to the NC. I don't think a game in which they were up 38-3 in the 3rd before they took out the starters has any effect on him.

Ok..... just because hes a defensive player doesn't mean anything because their defense didn't play all that great either. I guarantee that kid was expecting to see offensive fireworks...defensive player or not. My point was it was a boring and disappointing game. Thats not what a kid travels halfway across the country to see. I guess thats funny somehow????:!

No they didn't take their starters out in the 3rd. Rey Malaluga was in the game late in the 4th. atahey had their starters in to at least the middle of the 4th. Caroll was concerned at the very least. Remember this was Idaho not Cal. If people think USC is as good as they were last year they are sadly mistaken. Caroll runs the score up whenever possible the problem is that they couldn't run it up against Idaho. I'm taken whatever the spread is and Nebraska. Its my upset pick of the month Nebraska over USC. Lets get back on the subject of the thread

I guess he'd have been disappointed by our showing as well since we didn't put up much more offense than USC?? Please. I'm sure there are plenty of reasons he might not have had the time of his life at this game, but your reasoning is the least sound part of it.

Don't know if this is true or not, but I have heard Sonny Spielman coaches ,or something to that effect, Etienne.

I haven't seen any of Etienne film so for those who have, could Etienne play DE or TE at the next level.

Yes and it is explained on the last couple of pages in this thread. Sonny is an assistant coach and will definetly advocate for OSU. He brings some of his players up to camp or helps out every year. He was my 7 on 7 coach freshman year (camp champs by the way :) )

Etienne says he barely spoke to the Florida coaches, enjoyed the atmosphere, but only gives the visit a 6 or 7. He plans to visit tOSU on 10/19 and that could be his final trip.

Wow, very positive report. I have to admit, it's only been recently that I gave us any shot at this young man. And now it seems we have a real solid chance.

Do you think Etienne could play DE or TE at the next level?
