Hey, I thought OSU was going to land Zordich...what do I know? :biggrin:

Even the Rivals guys were way off going that far back...back in July they had the beat to beat as ND and the darkhorse as Miami (FL).

Thats why I laugh when people get so upset when "insiders" end up being wrong!! No one knows for sure until the kid pretty much suits up for a school, and even in that case, they are still wrong (see Mitch Mustain, Emmanual Moody, etc)

Thats one reason Zwick will always be a favorite player of mine; Recruited for the OSU, lost his starting job, could have transferred, but didn't and ended up doing something that helped the program for years to come and he didn't even know it.......saved Boeckman's redshirt by playing hurt in a bowl game.

EDIT: Neveda mentioned JZ in that regard awhile back

You need 4 years to understand exactly how crazy and weird recruiting can be!!!

Just watching Sabino's film again and he would be such a great get. Excellent hips when he explodes through the ball carrier, great closing speed, great size, and gets square well on the run. Also has good reads and comes in with bad intentions. Needs to settle down at times and not play so high but that only showed on a few clips. It's easy to see why he is rated the top ILB and I think he is an OSU LB star in the making :osu:

Boeckman still could've redshirted in '05 or '06. :wink2:

One thing he shows on his reads is great patience...instead of reading and immediately reacting he flows to the ball with great natural instincts. Takes great routes to arrive at the point of attack like he is running downhill. And like you said he arrives with bad intentions and looks to hit through the ball carrier. Uses his speed well to elude and evade blocks but will need to work on more advanced techniques, especially using his hands and leverage to avoid being engaged. He is the kind of kid that just needs polish...and the usual increase in strength/speed that most high schoolers need before they are ready to compete at a school like OSU. But I don't think it will take him long to find his way on to the field...

It's funny to look back in a players thread and see what his recruitment was like because at the beginning we all thought this was a token thread and we had no chance of getting him out of the south. Now we are in his final two and a week away from his decision and every sign is pointing towards us!!! A players recruitment can change after one visit, that it is what i love about recruiting, it is unpredictable. I love following recruiting almost as much as i like watching the games. Most people just watch the game and the players we have at this point in time, but i like to follow them from the beginning and see how they mature over the years and become an amazing player. I like to be the one that tells all the guys who the new freshmen is because they don't know who he is. Thank you to whoever made this website it is by far the greatest thing on the internet!

Hopefully, Sabino picks Ohio State next week, wink, wink! BLOCK O 4 LIFE! GO BUCKS!!!
