LB Etienne Sabino (official thread)

When you have experienced guys @ LB here now, and you bring in great recruits like these two (Sweat/Sabino), if we land Sabino, they are bound to become stars. If you learn from the best, you become the best. Keep the tradition going Sabino, pull the trigger. Join the family.

great post. reputation for you!

I really hope he comes aboard here with tosu, but with sweat in the folds do either Sabino/sweat have the capability to play outside as well?? Looks like Sweat has more speed than sweat according to 40 time but That's not always the case as we know. Anywho, I don't see how anyone can have a better recruiting class than us by the end of the year. If we land Sabino/Pryor we should be #1 hands down.

Rookie mistakes....

Everybody knows that to have the best class you need to pick up at least 27 kids. And you have to factor in that 1 star reduction off of every recruit that commits to OSU. Hopefully we can finish in the 10-20 range.

We may not be able to control the subjective recruiting championships but at least we can objectively compete for he real ones year in and year out.

I'll take quality football players/ student athletes with a crystal football over the scout championships anyday, There are a lot of highly recruited classes that do nothing.

It's a premium article and I know no one really cares about their recruiting coverage, but Sabino was named the nation's top blitzer by ESPN's Billy Tucker...

Sabino narrows his list to two
Etienne Sabino of Dr. Michael M. Krop High in Miami, the fourth-best middle linebacker in the nation according to Scout.com, is no longer considering Georgia Tech.
?I?m down to Ohio State and Southern Cal,? Sabino said Tuesday evening.
Sabino, who also eliminated Florida, Miami and North Carolina from consideration, said he plans to announce his decision on, or around, his birthday on November 13.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pound linebacker is also working on having his commitment televised live on ESPN.
?That?s a possibility,? he said. ?It?s something I?m looking at.?
Sabino had nothing negative to say about Tech.
?I?ve just always felt good about Ohio State,? Sabino said. ?And I had a good trip out to Southern Cal. I have a good feeling about those two schools.?

I don't have any inside information on this one (yet) but I certainly can't see him choosing USC based on his recent comments...if he does choose USC it will be another great sales job by PfC.
